Good to know that they make it for A6 same way. My 2005 A6 had a weird and unreliable heater control.

@@wawayltd Sometimes it's not possible as you need dedicated tools or equipment but globally you are right. It's like basic maintenance, oil change, filters change etc...why pay crazy money for that? I do myself and use highend oils instead of what garage offers. I have a VW CC 2.0 TDi, 345.000km and drives almost like new.

Very helpful - was about to order a heater core as thought that was the issue then came across this video. Ordered a heater flap motor on eBay 2nd hand for £10 it is a bit fiddly to do but it solved the issue and now both drivers and passenger vents blow hot and cold. Thank you.

You're welcome 👍 Sometimes, it can be misaligned gearing. In my case, little motor was not moving. Perhaps some internal issues, but 40 quid from AutoDoc seemed an easy option. There is a video on KZbin of someone disassembling this motor. Too clever for me... Or maybe just a lack of time.

I don't have any info on Leon, but it might as well be the same. This control motor can be visible before doing the job, so my advice would be - have a look under the dash.

Great vid sir. Can you show how to replace air distribution flap actuator? My VW passat 2013 has air distribution stuck at defrost and legs so now air is coming from the vents. I need to replace the actuator, checked with OBD too but no tutorial how to replace the actuator.

No, I don't. I've done it once on 320K, and it was pretty clear. It meantto last lifetime. You can easily find drain plug and another plug for filling up and level on a side. It only takes about a litre.

If battery are disconnected due to the airbag and the air bag is set aside like in the video. What if i need to start the vehicle to see if the flap motors are working or not after i have removed all the panels. Would it be dangerous and potentially set of the air bag? Also, would the motor stuff and such be mostly the same and in the same place on a vw Tiguan? Thanks for the video.

I kept the battery on. In my humble opinion, I don't think there's a big chance of airbag blowing, unless you're doing something really silly. Especially if you're not mesiing with electrical connection to the airbag. I said in the video to disconnect the battery as a disclaimer. As for similarity in setup with Tiguan, VW likes to share components across. I believe it should be fairly similar, but I can't say 100%.

Ive a problem with my audi a6c6 , i dunno why it dont blow hot air , it does only cold air . Ive cleaned those two near windshield, but nothing happening , still blow cold air . When i remove the bolts it come out hot water , so i think radiator is good , what can it happent how to fix it , can it be the motors that change from cold to hot or not ?

If the temperature on one side is completely not as you set it and expect it. There's a big chance that it's a flap motor fault.
