In the early 1900s Toro Park was settled by several different families. Ollason Ranch for one. Toro Park has several remnants of these early settlements such as small creek dams. There are two creek dams along Gilson trail and Red-tail trail. One of which has a “pipeline” still coming out of it. 😉

Nice!. I started recording my videos using a foam windslayer on my gopro hero 7 black. And i leave it in stereo mode. Its working awsome. I dont like the evo ss gimbal noise is not good. So using the feiyutech wg2x. Seems to work. Nice content dude! -Sam P.s. the evo ss was designed for the hero 4. Not the new gopro 5,6,7 you get more motor noise if the camera isnt balanced. They put out a (bandaid) counterbalance coin mount kit. That may help.

@willbros1499
@willbros1499 5 жыл бұрын
THat was a proper rip, as we've come to expect from Trail Peek!! As for the video setup....first off, the sound was up there with the best POV I've ever heard, and on par with Boostmasters $300.00 Sennheiser external mic that he runs on his helmet cam specifically for sound. It's that good....but I do think you could improve it with a bigger dead cat to really help remove the wind noise almost completely. With the mics set to stereo, and the camera not in a gimbal, I don't think the Hero 7 audio is bad with a good wind cover. Curious as to why you went with an external mic? I'd love to know what external mic with you used, along with the GoPro "dongle," if you don't mind posting it. As for the camera....it looks like you're running it with a low ISO max. The Hero 7 doesn't seem to do very well with that. It adds a slight bit of noise to the image when you raise it, but you may want to consider raising it to get an overall brighter video. It seems pretty dark in places comparatively. From what I've seen....I think for POV in anything but open desert lighting, it seems to do better with the max at 1600. It can't hurt to experiment with that. As for the video stability...I actually prefer that versus a gimbal. I'm assuming that was mounted under the visor of your helmet. I think that's about the only option unless you're willing to wear a full face and chin bar mount it, which lowers the shot angle quite a bit. The one thing that the low angle gimbal shots give....is the impression of more speed. It's like how riding a Go Cart at 50 mph feels like 120mph in a car due to the perspective. I don't think there's a solution for that, and I have yet to see anyone have success running the Hero 7 on a chesty from a stability perspective. I just wish they could improve the stability to the point that it could be chest mounted without a gimbal, and provide video like a gimbal. It's just not quite there yet. Maybe someone will uncork it in the next few years.
@TrailPeek
@TrailPeek 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Im using the Rode Smart Lav. Certain parts of the trail were quite dark, I will experiment with the ISO settings. I dont think the chest mount is too bad, but what gets me is when you're cornering. You dont get the same "roll" effect like the gimbal or a helmet mount. Future videos I will be wearing the chest mount as you will see. It definitely gives a better impression of speed. Other things to note are that its just a lot easier rocking a helmet cam. 1 batter to worry about and far less obstructive in riding. Not that wearing a gimbal is that bad.
@willbros1499
@willbros1499 5 жыл бұрын
@@TrailPeek .... I absolutely don't blame you for the helmet cam, and I still loved the video! I was used to wearing a chesty and gimbal on almost every ride. When I switched to the 7 chin mounted, I was sold immediately, even before I had time to tweak the settings. I learned A LOT more about the best setting to produce and upload in, mostly related to bitrate and some with resolution, which helped too. Then when I went back to the chesty for some longer rides where I wanted maximum stability to recap an entire trail, it felt like I couldn't breathe! I was just not used to the construction of the chesty anymore. I've just always worn a full face helmet. Early on 5 years ago when I started back, I just saw too many routine crashes where people got up with no chicklets, or bashed up faces. I don't even notice it anymore, and I'm over the ribbing about "Are you working on your backflips today?" comments from time to time. :-)
