Genuinely wouldn’t be shocked if white and black and potentially even yellow were all the same person.

I don't think so because in the early game White and Black were attacking eachother. I think it can be a good strategy when two players team up later. All players knew that Red took out Green and that Red could potentially grow strong when he would own all Nord Africa continents. Black also sent the fist bump emote a few times, I assume to ask the white player to team up with them. It wouldn't make sense to send that emote if Black and White were already the same person.
