Hi Ian, I love my 136 conversion and have made a lot of mods to make it my own (solar, vent fan, swivel seats, etc). I'm just writing to let your potential customers know that the process was effortless on my part. I dropped off the van at 8 AM and picked it up after lunch complete and ready to go. I have added a lot of stuff, but it was fully functional after your conversion. Keep up the good work!

Do you still have your van? Can you do a walk thru? I'd love to see your build.

Victoria McDuell yes I still have it. I’m thinking of making a video.

I love this idea. I've got chronic pain and the idea of trying to diy a van is overwhelming. I have family in Reno so now I can combine a family visit and picking up a kick ass van!

Very nice! I just finished my conversion, I copied your set up. Cost me about 3k in total and with Solar. Took two weekends as I had to make a bunch of cuts but hey, saved alot of money. Thanks for the free idea!

I'd like to see more views: 1.from the outside with the slider open , 2. Showing the swivel seats rotated ( with table pulled out ), 3. View from the front of the van... looking straight back ( with rear doors open & with rear doors closed. Very impressive work.

Kudos to Wayfarer! Seriously, this Camper Van Conversion Kit is the closest thing I've seen to Steinbeck’s camper Rocinante in his "Travels with Charley."

Love it. So innovative. Do u need that hole in the pull out table? Outlets? Isn't wool insulator dangerous if u run wires back there? Needs a toilet storage option and those latches and hinges are terrible. They won't last. Great video guys.
@mikeriesco61744 жыл бұрын
Love the look, but a key missing thing is the electrical system. That's the hardest thing for most people to tackle DIY, and for your $11K price, seems like more things should be included (such as that, or at least all the pre-wiring for the various electrical components such as batteries, solar, inverter, etc). Plus, to now install electrical myself, wouldn't I have to take apart a lot of what you've done, to get all the wiring routed?
@WayfarerVans4 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike, Staying true to our simple, plug-n-play philosophy we have a great solution right out of the box. Check out this post and video we did addressing electrical. wayfarervans.com/2019/12/05/power-supply/

Nice. Love the simplicity and flexibility. The kitchen is perfect for me. I may contact you in a few months.

Again, love the simplicity of your build but was wondering if some of the features in this build could incorporated into the 136 i.e kitchen unit (smaller of course). the slide out table, boot box etc.
@WayfarerVans5 жыл бұрын
Hey Mickey, In short - yes! The kitchen galley is the same for the 136 and 159 (no change in size) and the slide out table can be purchased as an accessory for the 136 to be mounted under the bed.
@tylerasmith525 жыл бұрын
You guys rock. I actually emailed you in November last year to see if the 159'' was in the works. I want to go into travel physical therapy, so mobility is crucial. I think you guy did a fantastic job, I had an idea to put a table EXACTLY where you ended up doing it. Awesome stuff. Anyway, I am still in grad school but I appreciate how smooth you make the transition to vanlife and there is a VERY GOOD CHANCE I will be in contact with you come August 2020 when I am looking for a hookup. Thanks so much Ian!!

My 148 inch Ford Transit Cargo Van is dying to see what it would look like outfitted with. Wayfarer kits. Do you have plans to offer this?
@raymondpito74185 жыл бұрын
Can you guys make one for the Ford transit? I plan on getting the awd one when they come out .
@jupiter66473 жыл бұрын
take pictures. take them to local cabinet maker. you decide what fabrics and color. can google marine cushion people , have them set that up. probably less than $2000, instead of $ 10,000 wayfarer wants. Oh and take measurements to suit your interior
@JohnDavis-yz9nq3 жыл бұрын
@@jupiter6647 yes exactly. Better yet go to Home Depot and buy some prefabricated cabinets. Maybe even cheaper.

@jacquelinejensen53605 жыл бұрын
I love your approach to van builds. Do you use the actual horizontal ribs of the van to mount to or does the wall cover those ribs & you mount a track of some sort to the ribs? I hope that makes sense.
@WayfarerVans5 жыл бұрын
Hey Jacqueline! Thanks for the kudos. We mount our braces directly to the horizontal ribs of the van, so it makes everything super strong.
@pinay565 жыл бұрын
Can you lower the bed so that it is around 18-24 inches off the floor of the van?? For people who have limited mobility having to climb up and down from a high bed is hard, and sometimes impossible, especially if they have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, or even trying to sleep. so the lower height would be of benifit....

Very cool. However, would the wool attract mice for nesting and they might eat the wool???
@Rick_Sanchez_C137_5 жыл бұрын
William Wood Mice hate mint. Keep cotton balls, each with a drop of mint oil, in three inch lengths of 1/2” PVC pipe. when u park, set one by each point of contact, and by entry points... this is how my dad keeps mice out of his camper trailer.
