I’m 56, and I’m telling you Conway has been unappreciated and underrated for a very long time. I always knew what we had in him. But the teens and young adults were so cruel, I simply kept my music choices to myself. In doing so, I learned to appreciate their music and broaden my own musical tastes. A few others I would add to that list are Waylon up until the 90s when his health started causing him problems, Roy Orbison, Dwight Yoakam for much of his career, George Jones when he was sober into the early 2000s, Don Williams, The Everly Brothers, Tom Jones for nearly his entire career, Vince Gill and there are others...but when one thinks about how many artists there have been since the mid 20th century they are truly the exception and not the rule.

He made you believe that he had lived every single line even if he hadn't.
