Wayne Couzens: Police should 'never have employed' Sarah Everard's killer, says inquiry

Wayne Couzens - the man who killed Sarah Everard - should never have been given a job as a police officer - an inquiry has found.
It said multiple police forces "repeatedly failed" to spot warning signs, despite a history of offending going back nearly 20 years.
And it warned that without a radical overhaul of policing practices and culture, there is "nothing to stop another Couzens operating in plain sight".

My citizenship application was delayed by three years , after living here for 18 years as a stateless person, because of a littering fine which deemed me to be not a person of good character. A normal security job at at Tesco’s requires a strict vetting process, including 5 years adress and employment history with no gaps, an enhanced dbs( not only criminal convictions but all sorts of police record, financial soundness, no bad debts, defaults, bankruptcies, ccj etc. it’s beyond belief that police can get away with recruiting someone with a history like that.

@@davidadiwego4608 it’s true I was given a fixed penalty notice for throwing a cigarette butt in drain by those environmental agency people which I couldn’t pay in time because I was jobless back then. Please hold James Cleverly and his immediate predecessors (Suella Braverman and Priti Patel) to account, folks. Instead of stopping the small boats, can they please take action on violence against women: stopping infinitesimally low rape conviction rates, and taking action against the scourge of violence against women within homes, on the streets or through the internet, and taking concrete steps with colleagues to sow the seeds of a cultural shift in how we educate young people to help prevent these issues. Give me a political party that wants to win my vote with action on this.

We should ask why the police are not vetted in the same stringent way that teachers are vetted using the DBS system. What has woke got to do with it? Being woke should logically make them better at their jobs as then they would not be using bias or discrimination in their decision making but fact based evidence which would mean they treat domestic violence and violent crimes against women with the seriousness it deserves instead of being prejudiced by societal attitudes to these types of crimes. They’re clearly not doing this!

We got serious racist and vile people in the met at the moment and I got evidence and a case to back up my claim. Black people are being treated badly. Public awareness is paramount to how they are being policed by some people who are not fit for purpose in position of powers. There is a disconnect between the senior officers and serving officers they do not have a clue on what is going on our streets.

I was a teacher for many years and across the decades recall three different students who passionately wanted to get into the police. One was, I'm certain, a psychopath. The second had a sort of Jim Davidson style 'cheeky chappie' persona that belied a very dishonest and deeply misogynist character. The third one was a girl - she was actually really hard working, emotionally intelligent and resilient, I'm sure she would have made a good police officer. I often wonder if any of the three of them made it into the service.

failed to notice once but twice 😂😂😂😂failed to notice since the start of police, amount of cover ups and dirty corrupt things they do ans they say some of them are normal and good people no, everyone of them knows what goes on just don’t want the reputation or being exposed themselves, other week a drunk man died in custody of police and they covered it up like they didn’t do it to him, not just me who noticed this or notices the cover ups and corruption of the police and government there’s thousands of ppl who know about the exact situation itself.
