Rachel, one money saving thing I've been doing lately is this: switching to a cash based living system, I have a decent amount of coins each week. When I was in baby step 2, I would roll my coins and deposit them into my bank and send that exact amount I deposited to my student loans. Now that I'm 100% debt free(!), I'm still on an all cash diet. What I do now with my coins is take them to coinstar and cash them in for a Starbucks gift card. I now only use my coinstar cards for Starbucks instead of throwing money away in my budget on it. #sheworkshardsavingmoney Ps-my younger sister (valedictorian of her school and just accepted a FULL tuition and stipend scholarship for her master's) has JUST started budgeting for the first time after reading "Smart Money Smart Kids" that I got her for Christmas. Thank you for all you and the Ramsey Solutions clan does!

This sounds like how the baby steps improved my marriage. In my marriage I managed the money; money stressed my wife out, so I "protected" her by taking care of it. Moving, and going down to a single income pushed us into needing to make a change. That first month on the Baby Steps was rough, but our weekly meetings have been great, and brought us closer and improved our communication.

You have me laughing Rachel! I can't take the chance, been married 16 years, no kids. LOL What if they are lying. In fact so many of my friends actually told me not to have kids because they were lying. Who knows for sure until it happens, right? Love your show and I'm glad to see this couple on it. Thank you for all you do. Hugs

Typical American couple who loses control of their money, no written budget, no financial goals. The American dream is crazy : expensive home, new cars in the driveway, family vacations without saving for it. Dave Ramsey helped my spouse and I live a debt free life. We are debt free except our mortgage and paying extra every month on the principle.😀❤👍
