I saw a lot of the sights, the beautiful mountains and a lot of blah, or worse. So, if you're a Newbie and don't have any plans, then I highly recommend it. Love you guys. My two cents: I only come to Vegas to eat, the best restaurants in country. So, when I come, I stay for 4 to 10 days. Initially when I came to Vegas I would stay on the strip looking for the cheapest deal I could find, but no more. The resort fees and daily incidental charge ate up too much of my eating money, lol. Now it's Airbnb, and public transportation. You should be aware that public transportation is quite cheap and will take you anywhere around the Vegas area. All day passes (24hr) on the bus are $5 for adults under 55, and $2.50 for those over 55. I'm over 55 so for me that's a damn good deal. That pass also includes the Deuce on the strip, however, you cannot buy the all day pass from the Deuces on the "Strip." It can be purchased on any other bus. I even take the bus from the airport to my Airbnb, lol. Now, I only recommend public transportation if you're not in a hurry. When I come, I'm relaxed and time is of no consequence.

Yeah - the public transport does make monetary sense, but we don’t usually want to take the time for the bus! Paying for convenience really! Thanks for sharing!

I stay at MGM properties, and usually get a modest food/resort credit. I just charge every meal to my room, no matter which MGM property I frequented, and then instead of checking out on the TV, check out in person. I usually ask if I could get any additional comps there, and they usually take off ALL my food (except tip of course) but I often get resort fees waived as well and end up with a hotel bill that is only my tips for the week.

Lots of good advice and tips here. I've learned a lot from this channel. Efficiency is the key word! Time cost can zap the value right out of your trip. Have a plan, but understand things in Vegas take time, and allow yourself enough time for things. Don't squeeze in a 6 day trip in 3 days. It won't work. I recommend a taxi over every other option, unless you're going to be almost completely off strip and doing a lot of driving, in which case I'd rent a car. The time you save is 100% worth it. If you're splitting it 4 ways, it's a no-brainer. Idea I've never tried: If there's a long line, maybe see if anyone else near you is going close to where you're going and share a cab? I mean, most people are probably just going to Bellagio or the airport, right? Not every taxi stand is the same. Be thoughtful about where you're picking up and dropping off, especially at night. Avoid most left turns if you can. Seriously. If I'm at Bellagio needing to go back to MGM Grand, it's often $3+ cheaper just to have them drop me off at NYNY and walk over the bridge, which is right there. Some casinos taxi stands are in bad locations, and can be difficult to access and get out of (Cosmopolitan, Planet Hollywood). Others are a lot easier (Bellagio, Mirage, MGM Grand). Always carry a little petty cash for taxis. Always have close to exact change. There are bill breaking machines in the casino. Don't pay the credit card fees. I just saved $7 right there on a $13 taxi. It adds up quickly. Tip $2 to your cabbie and that's an extra Starbucks. If it's a 4 day trip where rental rates are basement prices for a car though due to low demand that week, I'll rent and go off strip more. Cheers.

Check rental car rates frequently. If you know you need one, book it at the time you book your flight, then check back every few days. The sweet spot seems to be about 6 weeks. If you booked directly through the company or Costco, you can easily cancel and rebook. My Vegas trip last weekend, I got my rental car through Costco for $146 all in for 3.5 days. I don’t pay for parking anywhere so it was cheaper than renting an Uber or taxi.

Stay Downtown instead of the Strip and just uber it to the Strip one day. Especially if you are a Vegas veteran and have seen most of the Strip attractions already. If you are a middle class person on a budget and you just want to gamble and party then Downtown is becoming the place to be especially since Circa arrived and some of the other Casino's have been remodeled. They try harder downtown and the drink service is better as is the gambling and more reasonable table limits. The rooms are usually much cheaper except for Circa. The Strip has become more about clubbing, shopping, and exorbitantly priced fine dining these days. You also won't get burned out walking downtown from casino to casino.

When I’m staying at the Cosmo and not sure I’m going to get the best experience I go to the BBB, make my complaint/issue and select “contact from the business”. If it sounds like a Karen move, it may be, but I’m paying 5-600 bucks a night for the room and I’m damn well getting the experience I want. I’m not getting shoved on the aria side of the Chelsea tower. They always get back to us with the room/experience we want. Sounds extreme but it works. In Vegas it does not pay to expect other people to look out for you. Sound the loud horn. We pay a lot for this, and if they don’t deliver make them accountable.

They have all day happy hour and plenty of slot machines domestic beers are just 3 dollars and the have an assortment of fast food chain restaurants like subway, white castles, pizza hut and a 3 dollar footlong hot dog. There's also an outback steakhouse on the premisses they have a fat Tuesday's and a CVS on site save money on essential items you may need while there. NO RESORT FEES rooms are very affordable. I'm just saying the biggest reason for staying here it's located right in the heart of the strip so if your pressed for time and only have a few days I would highly recommend.

MGM Credit Card and Caesar's Credit cards grant you 2nd tier status with no annual fees --- this means Free Parking If your travel partner(s), are not easily mobile to walk everywhere --- it might be cheaper to rent a car and use the Free parking perks - instead of paying for cabs and lyfts. - I (walk very fast) go retrieve the car from the parking lots and pickup (and drop off) my family members at the pickup doors. Sometimes we visit 3 or 4 hotels/restaurants in a day - 3 or 4 cab/lyft/uber rides are easily more expensive than 1 day rental car when combined with Free Self-Parking.

My experience with the Deuce bus was a mixed bag. We could not get the Senior discount at ticket kiosk at bus stop, which I thought was pretty strange--I guess you need to purchase through rtc transit app or online. So we ended up paying full price and no savings there. The first bus we got on was "wrapped" with an advertisement that covered all the bus windows with black dots, so really not that good for sight-seeing. The second bus was not wrapped so had a better experience. Essentially, the best seats for sightseeing are the front seats on the top level, so that was the goal, to make it to the front seats! Also, when we got off at the Las Vegas sign, it was incredibly confusing to find bus stop to return because it was closed and had to walk some distance on busy road to get to temporary bus stop. Not a good option for anyone with mobility issues! To top it off, there was a bitch fight between two ladies in which the insults were flying during one of the rides, which made the atmosphere a bit "correction institute" and somewhat uncomfortable. This is the public bus so expect the general public in all their glories! I learned ALL about the relationship aspects of a card dealer who wanted to quit his job (and with two different girlfriends) thanks to his public cell use. All in all, it was not a glitzy Vegas experience!
