Thanks for this reaction, I really appreciated the conversation about wayv’s music up to this point 🙏 I agree there’s a difference between mature content and themes, and it’s interesting how this song feels quite mature in this composition/musicality but youthful in its lyrics/performance. The statement of maybe the management matured would be more accurate. Debuting groups at SM do not get to choose the songs for their first releases. Management does the choosing. Keep in mind they are from a different culture, a conservative one, and people are considered high school age minors still at 19 yrs old. So for them this song is showing maturity. WayV was able to choose between two songs for the title track of this album, and they chose this one.
