@oliviapg5 жыл бұрын
I agree. That being said, I also think the top cubers are so close that a lot of them have potential to win individual competitions like this, and a single average of 5 doesn't do a good enough job anymore establishing the best of the best. That being said, I think larger averages would take too long for competitions. It's a strange predicament.

Phil Weyer Rank 1 ? Average 5 = 7.17 (9.63+7.26+6.24+5.97+6.73)/5= 6.74 ??? 35.83/5 = 7.16667 Or might be im wrong, can someone explain it?
@LaZer0MonKey4 жыл бұрын
In WCA comps the best and worst times are removed when calculating the “average of 5”. So it’s really the average of the middle three: (7.26+6.24+6.73)/3 = 6.74

I don't really understand the scoring system. They take away your worst solve and best solve, so only 3 times are averaged? It should just be average of 5 period.
@SeanVillCubing5 жыл бұрын
It removes the lucky solves and unlucky solves in an average. And to also prevent DNF averages more, its more accurate to remove the best and worst times. It would be more accurate to do a mean of 12 or smth but comps dont have time.
