So sad. In a separate article the family said they knew it wasn't going to make it. They said it wouldn't be a case of if but, but a case of when. In the meantime they're hoping a store and pie place they own will survive. It's been in their family since 1910 (the home was in the family for decades as well). Very sad.

The numbers the man quoted to fix the dam is no longer viable. To fix the area that eroded away will be many millions of dollars.
@curtissemon7153 ай бұрын
At this point it's probably just about as expensive to fix the dam because now ypu have to span the space that erosion has opened up so, you'll have to fix the existing portion and add on so, might be cheaper to just take it down.

Higher temperatures mean more water in the air, more rain, more flooding. Army Corps of Engineers is making new plans to react to the science, some projects started others lack the funds. To claim they are ready is a political lie unless the job is to just react after the floods, the dams breaking, people evacuating, businesses are flooded or shut down, and or they are replaced or quit their jobs. @Mulberrysmile3 ай бұрын
I seem to recall that when Obama and the Dems tried to pass a major infrastructure bill, Mitch McConnell and the Republicans wouldn’t let it through, because it was more important to not let Obama get a win, than to do their jobs for the nation. What did Trump do in his four years for infrastructure? Biden and the Dems have finally passed an infrastructure bill, with the Republicans you folks like to label as “RINOs”, which the Trump loyalists tried to shut down, AGAIN, so the left wouldn’t get a win. And the Republicans who voted AGAINST it, are now using it as campaign propaganda to make points with the base. You can look this stuff up for yourself. It is well known that when Obama was being sworn in, McConnell and his buddies were off in a bar plotting against the interests of America as a nation, swearing to one another to STOP legislation we desperately needed. You can look up voting records on bills in the House and Senate. Get informed of facts and stop listening to partisan propaganda.
