Being loose, not white knuckling and your stance makes a huge difference and all adds up. I even adjusted the angle of my throttle control to reduce the tension on my forearm. If you ever watch a great rider, their body looks like it's in the same vertical position and the ski below them moves all over the place. Offshore, foot holds/ hydro-turf lifter wedges are a must for me to keep my feet planted. One you loose your footing on the first wave, the second wave will toss you.

Thanks for the tips. Now I need an offshore worthy ski. My Aquatrax F12X is not made for heavy chop/rough water.

I'm in Maine. The NE wind , along with currents, create very rough conditions if I want to get to a section of waves about a mile or so away. However, the wind is blocked by a peninsula and on the other side of that peninsula there are GREAT tow in foil surfing spots. I own a Yamaha VX limited and have LOTs of experience on the water but very little with a Jetski. What's the best way to build up my skill set in rough conditions? Without catastrophe. thanks p.s. I have a boaters license and have been out with my old center console in rough conditions but don't love it. thanks again.

For the 2022 model year….can you please do a video on the NON OEM options for the Sea Doo, and Yamaha crafts. One that also might work with OEM LINQ system on sea Doo? Meaning gas caddies, tanks, coolers, storage both in back and in front storage organizers? I just bought a 2022 RXTX, But no way I’m spending hundreds of dollars for sea doos 3.8. Gallon gas can.

It all adds up: a Kool PWC Rack with twin Sure Cans might be your best bet.

This was my question too. I'm between the GTX 300 limited and the RXT-X 300 and trying to see which would be best for Catalina runs or Ventura where it can get dicey sometimes. I'm concerned the GTX limited won't handle well enough. I guess both should should be fine as long as I'm lose. If I get the GTX limited I'll get the sponsons.
@watercraftjournal3 жыл бұрын
Both skis are more or less identical, so it's really down to which colors and features you prefer.

I have the GTX 230/ST3 hull, and it handles rough water conditions beautifully. (Atlantic Ocean/Rhode Island Sound) Just follow the advise that Kevin Shaw gives in the video. It works great. Relax the hands, lock your knees in, trim up, and don't fight the water. I'm thinking about trading my 230 in and upgrading to the 300 limited. Good luck with your choice.

@@donaldwest9103 Thanks for the feedback. I put a deposit on an RXT-X 300 but my cousin who I'll be going with is getting the GTX 230 so its good to hear it that it's enough for rough conditions too! Appreciate the advice. Kevin's advice is priceless for sure!

@@JeffTrop Was out in the Rhode Island Sound yesterday (Hurricane Larry 500 miles offshore); 25-30 knot winds, 3-5 foot confused seas, and my GTX 230 handled it beautifully for 22 miles. You'll love your RXT-X. Good luck, and don't look back!

@@donaldwest9103 Oh that's great to hear. I was going back and forth between the FX Cruiser and if you can handle that with the ST3 hull then I'm golden. So is my uncle that has his GTX 230 on order as well. He's be going with me and since we live in Los Angeles we will mainly be using them for offshore. I greatly appreciate you're feedback! January can't come soon enough. Guess I'm renting till then 😀

Hi Kevin, I got Riva Pro Series sponsons for my 2021 RXP. Which settings would you recommend 3 or 4? Thanks.
@watercraftjournal3 жыл бұрын
We found #3 was perfect for most all-around aggressive riding; #4 was REALLY aggressive for the RXP-X. The RXT-X/ST3 needs #4 because the hull is so smooth.

And...cruise control. Really really good for long distance chop. Take your time and lose your whole body
@watercraftjournal3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, no. Don't use cruise control is rough water like that. You're going to want to apply precise trigger discipline in the ugly stuff.
