Aqua Velva takes me back to US Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island circa 2002. We had one of those big, old one gallon pickle jars full of cotton balls, mixed 50/50 with Aqua Velva and rubbing alcohol. Every morning after we shaved we would line up and march past the shelf it was kept on and every recruit would take a cotton ball. Then at some point throughout the week someone would get assigned to mix the brew up an replace the cotton balls. Memories..

Great shave Ken. There's nothing like going back to your "go to" blades & set up. I've not smelled Hero cologne for men in forever and in the beginning of that movie before he gets with his girlfriend, Mel Gibson turns on the TV and the commercial for that cologne is on the TV in the movie before he changes the channel to the 3 stooges. It was a killer movie, I have them all. And you can't go wrong with Aqua Velva ice blue aftershave (I use it alot) along with Old Spice & good old Skin Bracer. Barbasol brisk smells like a milder version of the skin bracer. My year went like a rocket ship. And I also won't be doing a top 10 blog post either because I pretty much stick with what I like these days & it would be pointless for me to do one.

Ken, Feather+good vintage open comp= bloodshed, didn't you know that? As for very mild yet comfortably sharp blades try Ladas, they are superb. Whenever I use an aggressive razor I stick with them, never a letdown. Yeah, 2017 just flew past, and I guess it was (still is) a good year. My family is ok, we have done some good travelling, my work is looking up and tomorrow I am going to have some nice shaving with one of my favorites- a 1974 Gillette Black Beauty. There are two soaps that have a similar scent to Aqua Velva. One is the Barristers Reserve Cool and the other is the Razorock What the Puck Blue. I would buy one of these, and I will pair it with Aqua Velva. It's hard to believe we're getting to the end of the line for this year

First time I’ve seen you use the stick on your face Ken. It’s an experience I enjoy, especially if your pressed for time and want to get in and out quick. I use my Arko and Derby sticks to face lather and enjoy them both. I find Derby has a more pronounced scent. Danny Glover and Mel Gibson were a great duo together in the Lethal Weapon movies. Another excellent video. Palmolive soap sticks are very good and efficient (about 50p here in the UK, about 35 cents I guess) and last absolutely ages. Been using one all week, love the scent. Happy new year to you and all of your viewers

I used Aqua Velva Ice blue aftershave, and it was very good. In my opinion, it has a better burn then the Pinaud clubman, plus the aqua Velva smells very good and the scent last for about 30 to 40 minutes

Man that stuff was available everywhere in the UK too about 25 years ago, and now you cannot find it anywhere! like another one, Rapport, not sure if you remember that. Hi buddy , just to let you know with you being from the UK, the Palmolive soap is actually priced at 50 pence that's how cheap it is over here. I'm sure you could get some from Amazon USA ? I did watch another shave video, and he was using the Palmolive cool cream what I can't get in UK , he said it's cooler then paraso cream the menthol effect. I by the way I have never seen any of your shaver you tubers used my favourite product (lab series) because when my mum and dad first bought this lab series I never looked at any product. Lab series is a excellent moisturizer and there do sell a shave cream product, lab is very expensive in the UK but once you use them there no turning back. Take care my friend Scott Fowler.

Hello Ken. I have the same razor and whatever blade I use, nothing happens. I have to keep shaving over and over again. This razor is collecting dust in my drawer. I've used all the Gillette's, Astra's, Polsilver, Derbys and Sharks. Yet my Gillette tech , Black beauty and Merkur HD works great. What blade do you recommend ? ( I have not tried the feather yet). Or is it that the standard TTO is not meant for me, I don't know...
