Speaking as an orthopedic nurse, the fact that Sid, as big as he is, was able to walk and perform again at all after a comminuted, transverse fracture of his tibia/fibula is nothing short of a medical miracle. 3/4 of the people with that type of injury mechanism are never the same again.

Final Fantasy fans will get the thumbnail reference right away. I did not know until watching this review that Sid’s gruesome leg injury wasn’t televised live, and the first glimpse was actually on Nitro. I remember watching that and turning away in disgust after that first clip. Like you said Brian, it was a VERY good thing the viewers watching the PPV didn’t see it as it happened. The sloppy production in storytelling was textbook WCW in 2000-01. Can’t wait to see what the final shows have in store.

Been watching the old WCW on Peacock, they do not have Sin available. Guessing because of Sid's injury although you mentioned they do not capture it live but I can't think of any other reason. The only other old PPV that is not shown is the unfortunate one involving Owen Hart. Wish I could have seen it but great review.

I was at that ppw. Had forgotten about a lot of the earlier matches. Sid breaking his leg is something I'll never forget. You could hear it snap & knew something really bad happened. After the cameras stopped it was pretty chaotic around the ring with EMT's & the ring crew rushing to get the ropes down. I believe he went to Methodist hospital here. A few years ago a Louisville basketball player had the same kind of compound fracture during the Final Four here. The same Dr that did Sid's surgery did this kids.

When you say 'disc one boss', you mean in the beginning to middle of disc one, where its just some annoying but harmless goofball aka Leblanc from FFX2? Cuz Buff Bagwell would never qualify as an end of disc one boss. As you can see, I too am an intellectual.

Tony Schiavone revealed on his podcast a while ago that the plan was to have all of the minor PPVs (so excluding SuperBrawl, Great American Bash, Bash at the Beach, Fall Brawl, & Starrcade, I guess?), be named after the Seven Deadly Sins, with Sin itself being the start of it all. Unfortunately, only Greed actually happened (which was way too on-the-nose for WCW's last PPV, I feel), but while the concept is neat I think it would have been really hard to market PPVs named "WCW Gluttony", "WCW Lust", or "WCW Sloth", though I think "WCW Wrath" & "WCW Pride" would have worked.
