He booked the company Wonderfully, did a great job and was clearly passionate. So for him to get fired, not due to some controversy but due to the heads if Anthem wanting more control after he did the hard work of fixing the companies reputation, it really stung.
@jeremywilliams514117 сағат бұрын
1. Scott D'Amore fired from TNA 2. Cody Rhodes ALMOST doesn't finish the story. What I mean by that is having Rock replace him to challenge Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 40, which led to heavy backlash. Granted, we got Final Boss Rock and Cody eventually did become champ. 3. Injuries. Yes, they're part of wrestling and sports in general but still. Look at the list (though some have since returned): CM Punk, Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston, Bandido (who returned from a wrist injury on December 20th only to suffer a concussion), Shotzi, Ilja Dragunov, Tanga Loa, Bronson Reed, etc. 4. WWE releasing three talents: Baron Corbin, Indi Hartwell, and Tegan Nox. Tegan didn't surprise me but Indi and Baron definitely did.

Dynamic Ticket Pricing makes me so sick to my stomach. The crowds are full of clout chasers that react to nothing. Jey vs Jimmy wouldve still gotten loud reactions if the front rows were filled with actual wrestling fans. Hell i heard people yelling at expensive seats to end matches 10 minutes or 15 minutes into them. Every time Triple H walks his smug little "badass" stoic face to the ring to scream "WE MADE YOU SPEND 25,000 on TICKETS ARE YOU REAADDDDYYYYYYY" a little part of my love for wrestling dies inside. Real press are expected to fill the back rows first. 3. Repeat questions that have answered for 20+ years will be taken first. 4. The more the world wants to know the answer to a question, the less likely it will be answered. 5. Asking questions of those who are most knowledgeable / directly involved is not tolerated (McMahon legal issues, Montreal Screwjob etc). Edit: I know I missed a few, so feel free to comment your own.

20:30 - Oh come on. None of Vince's behaviour was unknown to dedicated fans of WWE. The truth was, no one cared enough to stop financing the product because they enjoyed it so much. It happens all the time in fandoms. The least that can be done is not pretend like it's something new that smarks have to come to terms with.

Very nice disguised projection, 8/10. Just because you spend your life on the internet doesn't mean everyone else does. I consider myself a pretty big wrestling fan and I didn't know 95% of the stuff in that lawsuit. Sort yourself out lad.

@damonodell9125 And very nice false bravado. I only watch Brian, OSW, and I used to watch WhatCulture Wrestling. That's it, and ALL of them talk(ed) openly about what a scumbag Vince was behind the scenes. You damn well knew it too, even though you're doing a terrible job of feigning ignorance.

@@barbaros99 nope. Perhaps you should just watch the way you word things. "NONE of Vinces behavior was unknown" You are wrong. "UHM, ACKSHULLY" What an absolute melon of a man you must be. Loser

I had already checked out of going after getting a first look at ticket prices...Basically I'm taking the price of what could have been a WM experience FOR ONE DAY and putting it toward the Collective shows that will happening during the same weekend! One way or another, I'll be enjoying wrestling!

5:49 This is probably AEW's biggest creative problem. Confusing face turns. When somebody turns heel, it's a big dramatic moment of betrayal or yet another factkln forming that's similar to two other heel factions. But if somebody turns face, it's by happenstance or osmosis without a dramatic turn, often because the fans just like the catch phrase or dance even if the character didn't redeem themselves This is on top of how they have so many heels, that if domebody does turn face nobody notices and it still seems like there's too many heels, and that there are so damn many factions half of which have the same mission statement and aura as the next. Like how the Death Riders have made us all forget about the corporate heels of The Elite, and by all intents and purposes should have been the antiheroes agaisnt The Elite

@@HandlebarOrionX Kris Statlander's sudden face turn because she was facing Mercedes Mone is another sticking point.
@TheArnelDeLeon16 сағат бұрын
I think it's less off an AEW creative problem, but a modern wrestling issue. No definitive heels and faces now, just everyone being shades of gray and the audience deciding which person they'd like to follow. Rhea, Damien Priest, Bloodline, Rock, Swerve, Shelton Benjamin, and even Cody.
@AkiraSO415 сағат бұрын
Rhea's face turn was 2001 Stone Cold levels of unearned, at least MJF and Cole are trying (although failing time and again) to salvage the feud.

Don't get upset with me if people think you won't make it, you're telling everyone every week that you won't make it. It's not tribalism if you're yelling at everyone about your tribe every week. It just stops being fun to watch.

Dynamic pricing nearly priced us out of Wrestlemania this year…but luckily it didn’t. Had I literally waited like 20 minutes, it might have…this will be my first Wrestlemania live, and if they keep dynamic pricing practices it will probably be my last.

"Dynamic pricing" was already in effect for the european shows like Bash in Berlin and MitB (Backlash probably as well). 2:46 - Ah, yes. "DMCAEW." It's even worse when you realize that when footage of that particular segment of that particular segment made its way to all of AEW's socials, including KZbin, the footage of Punk and Perry backstage wasn't even there! It just briefly flashes white, then skips to The Young Bucks speaking again following the showing of the "Brawl In" footage. They actually skipped the footage. And to top it all off, anybody who even tried to show the footage on social media or KZbin - even TikTok or Instagram - immediately got DMCA'd by AEW as a result. This even extended to a tweet on Twitter showing footage of Punk and Perry that had audio from Punk's interview with Ariel Helwani after his AEW departure on top of it. AEW was actually so petty that they didn't care about fair use doctrine when they tried to (horribly) save face. And the reason they did this? To build up the the finals of the World Tag Team title tournament at Dynasty between FTR and the Bucks (which the Bucks would win), with The Bucks saying that the incident ruined their concentration at the event and kept them from beating FTR and winning the titles at All In. That's it. Not surprisingly, the "Brawl In" footage was scrubbed from all socials including KZbin when this segment was uploaded there, and afterward, the footage and even The Young Bucks bringing it up and showing weren't even mentioned again during the build-up for the match. It's like they showed this segment thinking everything was going to be great, but as soon as the backlash hit, they immediately backpedaled and removed the "Brawl In" footage before putting it on the Internet themselves, and if anyone else left the Punk/Perry footage intact anywhere popular on the Internet, AEW went after them. Calling it now: this is going to be voted Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic of 2024 in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. NOTHING comes even close.
