Dual cab EMD wdp4d is my favourite Indian railway diesel locomotive. Its engine sounds beautiful while accelerating and running. It's faster in its speed than all other diesel locomotives. All EMD locomotives run faster than ALCo diesel locomotives.

@@satyasaran5u7 Yes and WDP4D is very fast and efficient if WAP7 become failure in midline of travel they have to rely on WDP4D to reach its destination and I hope WDP4D will exist longer

Even I got confused as to why title mentioned "acceleration" while there is no movement of the train. Then I realised you meant to refer to pressing the accelerator and resulting engine sound; not actual acceleration on the track! Nice clip BTW.

They are high idling to build up air pressure sooner..the compressor runs off engine shaft like they do in a bus or truck and the brakes don't relese without enough pressure and just like a bus or truck when the system has low pressure you hold the throttle above idle to spin the compressor faster and buildup pressure. Here they doing the same thing by setting the engine on high idle and running the compressor faster.
