I don't know who is more relieved, us or the chickens! And I figured out how to add on the last piece of trim to finish the nesting box lid! Also YAY! I put the hardware cloth around the coop. On top I put cinder blocks on top. I set them up as a garden and planted flowers in the blocks. Where I had to walk at the door and nest boxed I put pavers on top of the wire. No breaches I over two years. I have had every type of predator. Even a bob cat. I live in a subdivision with many treed lots.

I use construction sand on the inside of the coop as well as the floor of the run. Under the nest boxes and directly across on the other side I built small doors to be able to clean it out easier. You have done a fabulous job. You should be so proud. Another idea on the wire predator proofing I sat concrete blocks and built a shade garden around the coop and run. Where I had to walk I placed paver stones. My coop has been up for four years, with no large predators getting in. I even had a bob cat take a look but moved on.

I thought about using sand but ultimately landed on the straw! Thank you so much! I love the idea of a shade garden and paver stones. A bob cat?! That’s when you know you did a good job making it predator proof 👏😅

Thank you! It is the BEHR Premium Semi Transparent Waterproofing Stain and Sealer. I believe I used the color "Padre Brown".
