We all have much to offer despite our aging parts !

Every Monday the FISH Team start the week with FISH Poetry, and this week we want to share a poem by our FISH Poet Justin Geange titled My Phone.
We live in a throw away world where our focus is on the next new shiny thing. This even extends to people where we now have people called ‘influences’ who have online followers and yet we can forget those who are older around us and the wisdom and life experiences they have to share, if we would only create the space and take the time to sit and really listen.

Part of FISH's focus and mission is the social and emotional wellbeing of each other and to provide the resources and processes to navigate the seasons of life. Through poetry we stop, pause to reflect and learn. FISH uses the creative space to bring messages of hope, reflection and levers for positive change as we all walk shoulder to shoulder softly upon this land working together to make it a better place for all.
FISH are honoured to have Justin Geange as our FISH poet. Justin is a Maori, an average tradie and bloke from Logan Queensland. A devoted husband and father who works for suicide prevention charity Mates in Construction. Supporting people in crisis is a passion of his stemming from his own personal battles of the mind. Justin has found writing poetry helps with his own well-being and hopes his transparency may encourage or even help others experiencing similar challenges.
