I'm a fan of the power wagon as well, I just don't think they fit the trails we have out here real well.

@@EverymanOverland Going to find out soon enough. Probably go around Harmon Den trails for first trails. Definitely check out Brown Mt when the trail reopens in 2024. I have always driven full size trucks so I am use to tight spaces. Probably get some trail striping...😀

According to dealers I've talked to regarding ordering a Trailhunter or Tacoma in general with options put on from the factory so you can roll into your monthy payment and get what you want, there's no custom order option for the Tacomas. I've watched and listened to other podcast and videos where Toyota Spoke persons, influencers, interviewers, reviewers say you can but not according to the place you actually purchase them.

I'm not sure where the truth is. But I also suspect that Toyota hasn't released anything to the dealer network as the instant they do, it's getting leaked and we will see it online.

Dude, I ALMOST did the same thing, but decided to go classic instead with a diesel 60-series cruiser. The Trail Hunter is soooo sweet though. Congrats on the future rig!

We are planning on buying a ‘24 Tacoma also. Probably the TRD offroad with the hybrid motor option. I want the offroad capability, including locker, but not the extra doo-dads. This will supplement the Jeep for our overland style trips.

I tried my best to see if I could get a Tacoma to work for me. This is going to be a fantastic truck. 33" is respectable and should get you most places - personally, I would roll with it stock for a while to let the aftermarket build up some. I'd also be interested to see how it does on a trip down the AZ peace trail. ;)

35s will be for sure. I don't think it will be hard to get 37s on it, and I suspect the aftermarket is going to pounce on this truck. And I have yet to sit in one, so... I'm very much hoping it will work for me.. 😁

Tacoma have always had this problem especially the 2nd gen and 3rd with lift. CV AXLE, Wheel bearing, and boots always blown. Due to the lift i wonder if toyota have solve this problem with the 4th gen ?

I guess we will have to find out. But so far, I've seen a lot of problems reported with the new tacoma, and they haven't even released the hybrid engines yet...

@@ace5538 my understanding is they're running close to tundra level axles in it. With 460 lb/ft of tq, sitting on 33s from the factory, they certainly had to add stronger driveline parts.

I think the wheel base is amost or the same as the tundra

Ya, It's not a short truck. I think the longest tacoma and the shortest tundra will be very similar.

Did the Toyoda dealer give you a timeline for delivery ?

No. So far I seem to know more about this than the dealer. A few days after I made my deposit, they called me to say the first trucks should hit dealers in Dec, but that's for the lower drive trains. The iforce max will come last, and we're guessing April. Just a guess though.
