The biggest thing I was looking for is that they stayed true to the overall story and characters. From what I can see in the trailers they have done that. Making a 1 for 1 live action is extremely difficult and honestly kind of boring. Changing some things allows them to explore characters and stories in ways we may not have seen in the animation. A lot of the people criticizing the show are just click baiting for views and many don’t actually know the animated show as well as they pretend. Just the opinion from somebody that has watched the show 30 to 40 times through and through.

Common to say that Sokka's arc was overcoming sexism is saying you don't know the character at all. Sokka's arc is about proving he can be a warrior and a leader at the beginning he is clearly insecure about it and thats why he makes those sexist comments which by the way get resolved in episode 4 of season 1! I think they will tone it down because the show resolved it in a 30 minute episode but is a cartoon so it's fine but that would look kinda ridiculous in live action ,specially because it's only 8 episodes.

Okay maybe i did overstate. Felt like a lot longer than episode 4. I actually did the math. 1 hour episodes and 8 episodes in a season. If each season is 8 episodes that is 24 total to complete the series at 24 hours. The cartoons were roughly 22-23 minutes for 61 total episodes in the series. That brings it to just under 24 hours!

@@jimmytiptoereactions yea is about the same run time but the cartoon was broken down into more episodes while netflix is only 8 so pacing will feel different even though is the same run time.

@@jimmytiptoereactions yea i think thats why they said some of the mini adventures won't be included because it won't feel right with the pacing and that has people freaking out too because they are assuming it means Aang will be more serious but they never said that in fact in almost all the interviews they repeat he is a goofy kid who doesn't want the responsibility of the Avatar.

So both creators left the project because of the changes the producers were demanding. They completely re-wrote Sokka's story, so he's not a character any more. Their version of Sokka is just some generic woke kid tagging along spouting about gender equality and how he sees women as his better. He goes from having one of the biggest character development arcs normal people can relate to, to being a total tool. The movie might have been shit, but at least it wasn't woke. Imagine being able to actually make a worse version of Live Action Avatar. That's incredible. Literally NO ONE saw that one coming. It was thought to be impossible. Still, just leave it Netflix and they'll find a way..

Who said he was gonna be spouting gender equality?! That's not what they said. Also, to say that it will be worse than the movie because of wokeness is a stretch common, and this is coming from someone who also hates how wokeness is making movies and shows bad. But if you don't wanna watch it thats fine. I will judge after I have watched it not before.

Incorrect. Word from reliable sources is that they left because the producers were not changing it enough. I want all the purists claiming the creators wouldn't ever change things to simply reflect on one word: KORRA.
