1997: 35 years old, married with two kids, transferred to Rio for work - zero martial art experience or knowledge. Found the Gracie academy in Copacabana to introduce my kids to exercise and Portuguese language. Carlson Gracie and Marcelo Saporito taught me life lessons that changed my life. Now 61 years old I have found another great place to train in Quito Ecuador (Gracie Quito). bjj did not teach me how to fight, it taught me how not to fight and the confidence to solve daily situations without frustration and worry. Thank you.

This is such an inspiration, my martial arts experience has continued for over 50 years and when I saw that statue of Jesus in this video at 1:07 it brought back memories of sitting there having lunch on a beautiful day wondering what was in store for my future. Clearly hard work is a part of America and I am proud to say I lived that dream. Thank you for the incredible reminder

Loving the amazing content coming from this amazing brand. Can’t wait until the day I can afford to fill my closet with Origin clothes. Just started learning jiu jitsu last year at 27 and so much of this resonates with me already.

I saw this video and I got immediately goose fleshes. This story is so incredible and should be an example for everybody about an idea and the way to reach it. I am sure I will look at this video often. I know all the other videos from Origin already and I am a big fan of it and its products. I remember a story years ago when there were just a handful of employees and Pete took a great part of the yearly win to share it with his employees at Christmas. How humble Pete and his Team are. That is so awesome and especially in the time and world we live in now. It is good to see that the Universe is involved. Please keep doing your good work and I will always support you guys. Thank you for making my days even better with your content and attitude. Love you, guys. GOOD. MADE IN AMERICA.

After the first six months of learning BJJ, I realized that ALL girls and young women should learn Jiu Jitsu. Not only does it teach life lessons and self defense as Pete and Dedeco mentioned, but it teaches much, much more on an interpersonal level. As a 50+ woman, I wish I had this sport as a kid. Thank you, Pete, for persevering.

Great stories. This is the best way to build brand value. Storytelling. That is what people also buy, is being a part of the story. It is true that people are the most important part of business. More companies would be smart to use technology and include the stories of their employees. This will help you build off of Jocko's stories. The experience that people have in life is one of a story and that is what they want to invest in and buy into is a part of a story that they like, want and need. You should have all of your employees share their story its the ultimate ad campaign. Nice job.

The part in the beginning where Pete says he dropped out of college and got a job at an ad agency then was able to gain knowledge and start his own business. Thats a common theme what drives me insane though is how many people that have that same story become a success owning their own company or presidents CEOs etc and they will ONLY hire people with a college degree!
