The tip is to read his body language. Thats the only way you can tell if the attack is a fake out, and try ang as much damage in before his rotten meter fills up.

The only true way to beat him is to gain the stand sport 7 or better sporticus 8 ultra. This stand will protect you from Rotten's carbohydrate swords and will deal an extra 300 damage if you can land a perfect punch in the face.
