I am an Epica fan since the beginning .. almost 23 years ago. I evolved to Epica after beeing a fan of After Forever and following Marc towards Sahara Dust who became Epica .. So glad to see how people fall in love with this band. Her voice evolved so incredibly during all these years and I have a feeling she is not yet at her peak .. Thay still have a lot of fire and creativity hidden in there.

In my opinion, symphonic metal's trinity of choir masters are Epica, Therion and Diabulus in Musica, and to an extent Rhapsody of Fire but they don't use them as much as they used to. Kind of sad that DiM don't release music that often and don't have as much support from their record company. But returning to Epica, they're going hard with the cinematic sound and all the theatrics with the new songs, the orchestrations in them sound different than usual Epica yet with familiar elements
