That is something that kid will never forget, and it's awesome you took the time to do this when it's time you really couldn't spare. Tom, I think you’re doing the right thing. You certainly need to make sure that the chassis is completely sorted out after that significant repair. Be sure to keep us updated with the testing! Thanks for taking Levi o school. I think he’s going to be a future hot rodder.

Tom, sometimes the hardest call's are the smartest call's.... No-one can fault your guys commitment, this level dumb call's have a major effect on the "fun vouchers"..... get it tested, get happy with her again then back to World Domination (y'all know what I mean)..... I've walked a mile in your shoes in the circuit racing world (at a very very base level).... You've made the right call
@wobblysauceАй бұрын
And going as fast as they do... things happen quick.
@stevet647Ай бұрын
I agree. Everyone will judge you for a wrong and stupid call, worse the rules change and everyone has more compliance from it. Most people, racers and sponsors will respect that you picked safety and less risk for you, them, the track, the event and the future of all racing by not trying to compete at as close to 100% as you think you and the car can and ruining the day, event or even impacting the entire sport. A friend of mine was a pilot, he had his own home built stunt plane. Running up to a show he had some issues and it was worked on to the point he thought he could do the show. Sadly testing is done at high altitude to have a good margin of error, the show is low altitude and at the end of his part of the show the last low pass along the runway at speed and with smoke he radioed he cannot climb again and straight, left or right were all trees, down was not an option and he only had tail control to turn no banking. The rest of the show diverted to another airport and everyone but him went home. There has never been another air show at that field, none of the sponsors ever returned to other shows and I do not know how many other pilots, ground crew, spectators or food and drink vendors never went to another air show. I haven't and sold my share in a stunt plane I flew (but at altitude I was not that confident and only owned 1/8th of it). Air shows now have a requirement to be 50m above the highest object in any direction around the airfield closed airspace unless landing. I am sure Tom and the team will have a more sorted and confident rest of the years events, these will be better and you will be more prepared not trying to do just enough and fighting consistency and issues to get to the next race all season. Good luck to the team and I respect the decision!

Good well thought out decision, You just got the chassis back welded together, Go test and get it ready for sick week and go out and dominate 5s runs in your own race like everyone knows the car is very capable of doing. ( Edit ) Street drive overheating At light throttle, the timing needs to be advanced to pull down exhaust temps ( Think vacuum advance on a regular motor. ) Water ( Wadder .. . ) leaving the block / heads needs to be restricted so dynamic pressure increases. This prevents localized boiling of coolant. The heads need a steam vent as well as running a surge tank at the highest point like an LS. Running just a pressure cap on the rad and an air space below leads to bubbling coolant and poor cooling.
@CS_Heavy_DАй бұрын
Man that sucks but I get it. The smart move is to sit this one out, a car not 💯 ready to run 5's everyday is not safe. I can feel your disappointment in the end 1 on 1 there. Thanks for letting ride along with you through this channel. You 💯 have my respect. God bless you and your family.
