Give it time. We can get the lightsaber to WORK, getting it smaller is on the list of things to accomplish. Parrying would be fantastic, but I suppose that might be done if they can compress the design to be smaller first. Best I can think of is super strong magnetic fields
@greenaum7 ай бұрын
I expect putting one of these against another, the gas jets would blow against each other, so you'd have the "light" sort-of bending. So a sort of parrying, you could perhaps deflect a blow that's coming towards you from burning you. Although they don't look entirely safe even to hold in your hand so I wouldn't get too clever with the sword play.

And don't forget the main but most fanciful feature: two lightsaber blades clash to each other instead of passing through. No matter what you can cut with it if you can't sword fight with it!
@dra6o0n7 ай бұрын
It wouldn't be a lightsaber, but it would be a special blade with a mechanism to extend out of the hilt, and then charged up to cut using a very hot energy on the edge of the blades, due to the cutting power, the blade itself doesn't have to be super durable in that case, just solid and stable enough to hold on it's own. It'd be closer to a 'beam' saber of sorts if the 'edge' emits a cutting beam in front of the solid blade.
@jasonsorin10217 ай бұрын
@@TheArtofWalls canonically, the blades are contained by magnetic fields, which can definitely clash as well as looking cleaner. it's a lot more difficult, but theoretically possible.
