We ATE a SHARK! Catch Clean Cook -Blacktip Shark from BEACH

I can't believe it took me so many years to make this video! Land based shark fishing is something I grew up doing and something i love very much. My buddy Ricky called me the other day and asked if i wanted to try and catch some blacktip sharks from the beach. We got to the beach and within 15 minutes had our first shark bite from the surf. This time of year the annual blacktip shark migration is in full swing along South Florida's east coast. Thousands of sharks migrate along the coast and Congregate in huge numbers just feet from the beach! Hope you guys enjoy this shark catch clean cook and please read below for more info on shark regulations! Florida and the U.S as a whole have very strict shark regulations, so please don't believe everything you see in the media as far as sharks being fished to extinction. It's true that many parts of the world have declining shark populations, but this is not the case in our waters. Blactkip sharks are very plentiful!
►Recreational regulations for sharks in Florida! Make sure you take your shark smart course if fishing from land!

This was one of my favorite videos to date! None of this shark went to waste, we at all of the meat and gave some away to friends as well. This is sustainable harvest, not what the media portrays shark fishing to be! I'm going to film another video making homemade shark fin soup as to not waste any of the animal. If you have a recipe or know anyone who knows how to make shark fin soup PLEASE email me at teethtv@gmail.com, or DM me on instagram @landsharkoutdoors.

I am by no means a pro, (I can't tell you which lures will catch what fish) but fishing is an amazing experience. If you can get out there (whether it's a lake/ocean/river/or pond) give it a try - you'll have a great time even if you don't catch anything.

Hello im a fan from Mexico, my grandmom has a restaurant where she makes “Shark Empanadas” which are really good. She boils the meat just enough to be able to shredd it. Then she cooks it with onions, carrots, tomatos, bell peppers and cellery. This would be the filling for them. She then gets a big flour tortilla and she puts the filling in while folding it into an empanada, and seals the edges with a fork. After they are sealed she frys them until golden brown and crispy! You should give them a try, they are really good!

Excellent video. Much like your gator video. By explaining the population numbers, local regulations and then explaining how to care for the catch, goes a long way towards educating people. Really enjoyed both clips. I don't often comment on "regular catch clean cook" posts, however, taking the time to profile an under used resource is something I respect.

Adding this comment prior to you tasting it: When I was a kid, my dad ordered me shark at a restaurant in Florida while we were on vacation (we're from Atlanta). I of course, didn't know he ordered me shark. Well I'll be damned if I didn't eat the whole thing and then say that it was the best chicken I had ever had, only to be told I was fed shark instead! And that is how my love for shark grew. Very excited to see what you think about your first taste! Ps. The same scenario happened to me with alligator too. YUM!!

Glad to see someone cooking shark for a dinner party. Many people have the idea that sharks are severely endangered, nothing could be further from the truth. There may be some species that might be guarded or rare species but ask anyone who fishes in the ocean on a regular basis and they will differ with you. Great video👍👍

Hi my way of using the shark fins is first cut 3 to 4 lines into the fins then use a crumble breading and then you deep fry tell you see the breading cooked put the fins aside to cool down to breathe then you make alfredo sauce with sausage after the sauce gets to a boil you then start adding the Finns after u-cut fully where you did the first cuts and add the pieces of Fins to the pot to finish getting cooked

I been eating shark for years. My mom would stew the shark meat in spicy tomato sauce. You cause also mince the meat up and make fried shark balls. Shark meat can be eaten with rice, pasta or cornmeal balls. You can find many recipes on preparing shark from different folks who eat it here in the Caribbean. The meat is very tender when it is cooked right👍🏽

If you want to try the conventional shark fin soup that you find in a restaurant, it actually takes months to dry the shark fin and rehydrate it by boiling just to get the cartilage "strings" (edible parts) from them. It's gonna be pretty hard to do and it wastes all the meat that's also edible. But I think it would be super cool if you can pull it off. I have had fresh shark skin before in another way, in japanese style "Nitsuke". You basically put the shark fin in the pot with ginger, garlic, green onion, lots of soy sauce, mirin, rice wine, salt, and sugar and stew until the cartilage is crunchy but soft. It works really well with steamed rice. I enjoy your videos a lot and please keep sharing more good stuff with us! Looking forward to seeing how you cook those shark fins.

I used to eat a lot of blacktips when I growing up in South FL, but after becoming a dive instructor stopped because I liked diving with them more. I am happy to see that you are utilizing the whole fish though. I live in Houston now and would never eat a shark out of the Gulf here with all the oil and chemicals in the water here, since they are the top of the food chain. A lot of friends here do eat blacktips, but they only do the ones 3' or smaller, because there is supposed to be less mercury in them. As far as shark fin soup, the Asian version uses shark fins that have been skinned and then dried in the sun, not fresh fins. Loving your channel though, makes me miss my hometown a lot!

Victor, your video was awesome. I think it's sad that you have to state so many disclaimers regarding this catch, clean and cook. It's all good Bro. Most of us that subscribe to your channel get it. You are a an articulate, sensitive guy and you do the right thing. And are a great fisherman to boot. And cook. Of all the channels I subscribe to, yours is my favorite. I get that you have to explain your justification for this harvest but for those of us that have longed to be where you are/were, we're thrilled. Nicely done. My buddy and I caught a bonnet head a year ago and we decided to keep it. Was arguably the best grilled fish I've ever had. And we didn't know about the gutting and bleeding. Would have even been better, if that were even possible. So.. Keep doing what you do. You inspire me to get out. I'm an old fart with a kayak and need the inspiration you provide. Broward county resident... two thumbs up with a wiggle.

Hey, down in New Zealand we call shark -lemon Fish but they are really "Reef Sharks" and they sell it in the supermarkets as lemon Fish ,why i can't tell you but it is very meaty and tender .A few ways to cook it ,but my favorite is to dip in coconut milk then into mixture of Panko, wholemeal flour ,ground almonds and a little fine cornmeal. Now you can either pan fry it or oven bake it. Serve it with either brown rice or Quinoa. Make a nice spicy sauce using the coconut milk, garlic ,onion, tomatoes, ginger and fresh cilantro .Alternatively serve on a bed of Purple Dawn Sweet Potatoes and a nice tossed green salad to go. I love black tip and also don't like corn starch feeling, Also if you think they come down on you for killing a shark, Try killing a lion in Africa and see what happens lol.

I mean there are quite a few sharks and they arent endangered but in africa lions are being killed too much so i wouldnt be suprised if people got angry for killing lions

@@michaelwybrow5588 A lot of people have problems with trophy hunting or sport shooting or what ever you want to call it, and for good reason. I get hunting and thats by far the most ethical way of getting meat. But when you go to for example africa to hunt lions. Now that qualifies someone as a particular kind of person. When you are quite happy to go out and shoot things for your own entertainment there is a problem. Trophy hunters they don't hunt to get food, they hunt because they enjoy killing. Thats borderline serial killer behaviour.

Make sure you dry the fin and tail out. Then store in cool place until ready to use. When ready soak in water for a good 24 hours changing the water at least 4 times. Here's my ingredients and I've hadn't had any complaints yet. I'm in Ormond Beach just 20 minutes north of Daytona Beach but fish for shark in New Smyrna Beach where all shark fishermen are welcomed with open arms. 1 fins and tail of a shark 2 quart water 2 large potatoes chopped peeled 2 tsp Chinese black vinegar 1 small handfull lotus bulbs soaked 30 minutes and rinsed 1 small handfull woodears black Chinese fungus 2 tsp sesame oil 2 tsp soy sauce 1/4 cup Shaoxing wine 1 pinch baking soda 1 oz strip of meat from shark or chicken 1 tsp cornstarch 1/4 cup cold water Mix then bring to a boil for 20 minute. Drop down to low heat for 45/60 minutes then serve. Make sure your tasting as soup is cooking. I serve mine over rice or egg noodles but to each his own. Good luck!!

This was fantatic! I enjoyed this video a lot. Back in the mid 1980's my family deep sea fished off Port Aransas, Tx. and I caught a 30 lb. Black Tip shark. It was filletted and cooked on a gas grill. It tasted like a beef steak, no fishy flavor, good clean firm white flesh. I have longed to make another trip like this, and God willing I'll do it. Thanks for this video!

Wow! So 😎 man. Nice job. Made my mouth water though lol but yeah I live in Pompano, wonder if tomorrow 🌙 there will be some blacktips lurking.. Either way I'll grab my gear and some bait walk down give it a shot. Definitely not try to keep anything. Just sitting there waiting for the drag to peel is enough.

Nice catch! I enjoy catching makos in NY and eating shark mako and thresher. I had blacktip in a restaurant in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea years ago. It was delicious. I've never seen it on a menu since. Fished a lot of shark tournaments and tagged a lot of sharks too. Looking forward to seeing the shark fin soup video.

Awesome vid!!! God put fish ,animals on this earth to use.People do not have a issue with all other fish.Look at cod in Massachusetts where they closed it down for over fishing, netting. And other fish.I wonder how they would feel if they got bit by one.No matter what we harvest to consume there will always be some people not happy.Thank you for such detail catching ,cleaning ,and cooking!!!! Your living the dream.God bless you and all family.
