One of my core memories is accidentally pissing through the gap of the toilet seat at school and getting like, a lot of piss on my pants, and this was at the age of around 14 so there was no way to play it off, I spent forever rubbing at it with soap, but I could still occasionally smell a hint of piss. The teacher commented on me taking a while, but backed off that line of reasoning, deciding that there's no way that line of questioning goes well. I think it's not like the piss stream is directly aimed at the gap, but if the pressure is high enough and you hit a little below the gap the pee can sort of rise up and slip out. To clarify, I don't think it was like a direct stream of piss out of the toilet bowl onto my pants, my memory isn't 100% but I think it was more piss ran down the side of the toilet bowl and onto the floor, where my pants were resting.
