Fun fact. The guy who voices Rumplestiltskin is the director of the movie. Originally they were going to get someone else to do it. Probably some celebrity or something. But then the director was reading Rumplestiltskin’s lines when the other actors were recording their lines. Apparently they liked his version so much they just had him voice the character.

I thought some princesses were younger than others tbh. Like Belle being more independent and well read(to my child mind) made me think she was older. But I definately get your point with most Disney princesses being presented as naive and virginal and in need of their dad erm husband prince to come and save them. In some Disney movies it feels like the woman had no choice but to either be alone or with the prince lol.

@angelicblood6699 Жыл бұрын

@sboinkthelegday3892 Жыл бұрын
No way, Farquaad is a dickhead but he could be easily redeemed by keeping him in his place, like Biff Tannen. The question is, does Rumpelstiltskin push just past that limit? The whole thing is a bit like choosing among the men in Don Bluth's Thumbelina, apparently named so because she thumbs her nose at EVERYBODY. Unironically would. I'm no Beth Sanchez but Farquaad > Jerry Smith. Problem is Farquaad family line does need a LOT of added genome diversity. Think about that, while men are getting drafted to be stabbed with bows and spears, not a single woman measures up to play that part of Lady Godiva. Like they say, loving a guy is hard work, so you know ogre chick is OUT.
@helllo4589 Жыл бұрын
Nah, they all had reasons for the shit they were doing and had a motive, while Jack Horner just wants to be evil as shit
@mckenzie.latham91 Жыл бұрын
You guys need to actually watch the films none of these villains are redeeming: 1.) Farquad was a racist genocider who wanted to exterminate Fairy tale kind for perverting his perfect world and he was willing to sacrifice any number of his own men to rescue Fiona and when he found out she was an ogre he threatened to either slit her throat or send her back to the tower to rot to death alone. 2.) Fairy Godmother is a manipulating cow and bigot who literally refused to give an ogre a happily ever after cause she deems them not worthy of love or happiness She is also the one who literally made a deal with Fiona's parents to lock her away alone in a tower for years, causing her to lose a good part of her childhood and gave her social trauma for a large part of her life, just so her son could rescue and marry her and make him king which would benefit Fairy godmother it’s also hinted that it maybe even was fairy godmother who cursed Fiona in the first place to set up the arranged marriage and she was wiling to literally date rape drug Fiona into compliance to do so, and then tried to have Shrek killed and or was going to kill them both at the end if not for Harold’s sacrifice 3.) Charming is a spoiled brat who couldn’t move on and couldn’t;t hack it without is mother backing him even when he manages to convince the other villains to join him, he’s such a narcissistic ass and selfish prick tat he forces them to adhere to a play designed to support and benefit him, not them and he fully intended to kill Artie and Shrek 4.) Rumplestilskin is literally a monster who tricks people into giving up their very lives for his betterment he made Fiona’s parents disappear, he had shrek literally killed by erasing him from existence then he had all ogres hunted down, enslaved or killed None of these characters are redeemable, they’re selfishness, greed, bigotry and hatred are too great for them to overcome and it ends up either destroying them or leading them to a grizzly end.

It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle to its basics; suffering, pleasure, faith, despair. It connects with the characters within the viewers, individuals suppressed within our own subconscious. It took me 3 years to realize when shrek was talking about onions and ogres donkey states “not everyone likes onions” which I think implies that shrek is telling donkey not everyone likes ogres

Okay, so hear me out. Donkeys, are fertile, and have 62 chromosomes. Horses, have 64. Mules, which are a hybrid of the two, have 63 chromosomes, and are sterile. So here's the theory. If donkeys have 62 chromosomes, how many does a dragon, _hypothetically,_ have? Well, if we are to glean any information on this, we have to view dragons as something that can be domesticated and ridden. In some cases dragons are extremely large, but in MANY cases they're basically maybe the size of a horse, probably larger, but any semblance of horse size is important here, as it both provides further conceptual compatibility and likelihood, but will also confirm my theory. If dragons share enough biological similarities to a horse, like build, stature, spinal structure, ribcage, gait, speed, and strength, then we can easily assume a dragon should most likely have the same chromosome count. Thus making the dronkeys a hybrid akin to the mules, which would make them sterile and incapable of producing offspring.

I think I pulled something in my brain trying to comprehend this. First of all, size and function have nothing to do with chromosome count. The reason horses have more than donkeys is because they're evolutionary a newer species of the equus family. Second, magic is an established factor in the shrek universe, so I usually chalk it up to that as being the thing that makes them compatible.
@JeremyFinch42 Жыл бұрын
@@pyronuke4768 Well, the highest amount of chromosomes LIZARDS can have, depending on species, is 62 or even 66. And it's turtles. Which, yeah, aren't a close enough representation of a dragon, unless you count the body armor and voracious appetite, but this does give us the precedent that reptiles could have a very close chromosome count to horses, and they're typically the larger ones, so my logic though definitely flawed, is not totally wrong either.
