Fun fact: The Kids was to make the switch of the voice actors, since the original voices for gumball and Darwin got old. When their voices were super low and it just went up again, those were the new voice actors. They switched it mid episode

Gumball is really good at balancing a continuity with knowing that none of the cable watching audience would get to see things in order. Small carry overs from previous episodes work really well as gags on their own and if you do catch onto things it still works just as well! Also, they always (to my knowledge) used mid-episode gags to swap out voice actors which was both really funny and helped it to transition much better imo
