I love Blind Seer so much. Such an off-the-wall, unusual kind of commander. My Blind Seer deck is a color shenanigans jank deck; It doesn't really win unless Prodigal Sorcerer sticks around or I sneak in damage with little unblockables. Otherwise, all the deck does is completely fuck with colors. It packs a few ways to permanently change color words or land types too. I can make Urborg say Islands or Plains if I wanted. I can change things like Elenda to make tokens that don't actually exist like green or blue vampire tokens. It's just a funny, really janky deck with a few really cool interactions.

Yea I noticed it to but he only missed the 2 creatures he sacrificed to cordial vampire. 2 vampire tokens wouldn't have swung the game much

Heya, just letting you know that Shorikai, as it is not a creature unless crewed, doesn't have summoning sickness in non-creature form. As such, you can activate Shorikai on the turn it enters if not crewed. Don't know if it was a slight misplay you didn't use with mana open. 4:30

I recently built a Shorikai Deck and I'm loving it! It too uses Intruder Alarm to draw infinite, but the combo isn't as consistant as anyone would've thought. I don't rely on it and instead try to profit from Shorikai's draw and Token generation. Adding Mentor of the Meek to draw an extra card when the token ETBs and Ashnod's Altar to +1 on Colorless is great, and having Jace Welder of Secrets as an alternative Wincon/Draw payoff is great.

That was some nerves of steel from the table to (correctly) resist immediately taking out the mono-white deck after the first Approach of the Second Sun cast and instead continue to focus on each other. I guess the mono-blue deck had an onboard answer, but still, I think most tables would've lost their heads after seeing it cast.

That's probably because monowhite can't dig for Approach very fast. If it were Andrew, an Azorius player with a card-drawing commander, casting it, then they'd probably freak out.

@@comradecameron3726 Yes, that is correct. How does that pertain to the board state/my comment here though? If you are concerned about my "on board answer to Approach comment" then I'll explain further. The mono blue deck had Thada Adel and the G/W sword on the battlefield. All they had to do was equip Thada Adel with the sword and hit the Approach player, forcing them to shuffle.

Every Shorikai deck I've played against does basically the same thing, so it's constantly keep him off the table or they go infinite and win.

I have a blind seer deck. Its goal is to go infinite with isochron to either exile, destroy or return every permanent on the battlefield. Its one of my most powerful decks and I love coming out of the blue (pun intended) for a win with a deck that "all I care about is the color of your card".

@@mindofbeasts If you're still wondering, they are paying for the artifacts because Kataki, War's Wage (Derek's Commander) gives all artifacts "At the beginning of your upkeep pay 1 mana or sacrifice this" so they have to pay for each artifact they control while kataki is on the battlefield.

It's good to see the Shorikai deck finally get a W. It definitely seems like that deck kinda struggles to do things most of the time. One of my buddies made a shorikai deck to and it's hard for them to get W's with it too.

The strongest Shorikai decks I've seen go towards full control and less towards vehicles, they keep the ones that bring more value to the gameplan. Usually those decks will easily draw like crazy and assemble the combo pieces to win the game while controlling the table. A Shorikai built that way doesn't struggle at all to get some wins

@@TheHolyWarz yea that definitely makes more sense. My buddy also went the vehicle route and struggles to get things going. Even still, I'd think that Elminster would be a better commander for a control style of play than Shorikai but then again I don't know anything about how to build a shorikai deck at all so I very well could be wrong.

Elenda is the best aggressive Orzhov aristocrats commands. Teysa is the best defensive one, simple because Elenda triggers off any creature dying, but Teysa double your on death triggers
