I have a hamper with 3 compartments (whites, colors, darks) and each compartment has a baggy that you can take out. I walk each bag up and down the stairs when they get full! So useful!!

Congrats! How exciting!! A collapsable laundry basket would be a go-to! Then it can collapse and be stored in your bedroom wardrobe ready for taking laundry down :)

So excited for you! In terms of upstairs bedroom / downstairs laundry, just throw the washing down the stairs on laundry day and put into a hamper that stays in the laundry!

Plus you could have a few of them to seperate lights and darks then they just fold up when not in use and easily slide away in your cupboard. FYI I would have loved an empty house tour. 😀

We throw all the washing down the stairs 😂😂😂😂, also put up a shelf in the coffee area at the correct height and pop the machine on it or raise the legs of your white cabinet swap the feet out .

For the hamper, have a basket you throw your daily clothes in in your room then carry that down to the main hamper by your washer.

i would personally change your couch and dining table. maybe even a 2 seater and a accent chair in the middle of the room with the tv where your couch is against that way the room isnt cut off with your side table and the couch arm which can make the space seem smaller, then have a rectangle dining table behind the couch replacing the circle one. or you could even get a square dining table and tuck in under the bench if your stone bench top hangs out. and potentially have your tea area in the direction as you come down the stairs just past the kitchen bench that way its just past the kitchen but not in the living room so it is more cohesive with the kitchen and not in your loungeroom can look out of sorts.

I work in removals and to hear that the first movers you had didn't even wrap mattresses it absolutely crazy! I cant say I've met the staff at Oz Wide but it looks like they're doing such a great job. The way things should be done!!

So lovely to see your new home and how happy it is making you. I have seen recently a lot of people moving their actual laundry machines etc up to rooms by their bedrooms which to me makes so much sense if you have the ability and plumbing etc.

Congrats on your new home! Love the house I would try the mirror over by the table and tea corner to make the area bigger. For the laundry we have a nice basket upstairs that we bring down to do the laundry and for a while I had the sorting bins in the laundry room so I would sort it there but by the time my basket is full it’s plenty for 2 loads of laundry. I just hated having the big sorting bins upstairs…looked messy. Good luck and have fun figuring things out!

I have a double storey and what I do for laundry is I dump all the clothes from the hamper into a basket (the one I use to carry the clothes from the washing machine to the clothes line) and carry it downstairs. Otherwise I would've for sure rolled down the stairs with the hamper 😅

Laundry alert: Joseph Joseph collapsible basket with handles best ever!!! So practical can use for car trips I would say get 2! The hampers in the same brand are not so good. Baskets better for stairs! There’s always the throw option 😂

The 'Linen Look Hanging Organiser' at Kmart! It's the perfect hamper. I hang it in my closet but then it also has two straps so you can carry it like a handbag when going down the stairs to the laundry. I live in a three storey townhouse and highly recommend!!

I use a spray bottle with vinegar and water in it and either a Norwex cloth or paper towel on mirrors and it works soooo well!!

Congrats! I have a similar issue where I live out the back of my parents has and their laundry is in the house, I use the Jospeh Jospeh laundry basket which can have 2 or 3 separate bags and are light and easy to carry and just tip into the washing machine

We have 2 storey and use fabric laundry hampers, one for whites and one for darks so they are smaller, they are not that awkward to carry down the stairs at all. We hide them in the wardrobe so they don’t have to be pretty.

You could get a hamper that has a cloth bag inside it so instead of carrying the whole hamper, you’re just taking the cloth bag downstairs! (Then I’ll wash the bag every few loads)

I’m so excited for you 2 on this house and the next step in your lives!! I had a suggestion to help with bar stools… if you decide you’d like some, but are worried about clutter, try backless. We have a wash basket that you take down stairs. It collapses in on itself so it's easy to store. We have the one that separates lights and darks and it comes with removable bags that you can use to take your washing downstairs :)

We have a hamper and then pillow cases inside that we fill with different coloured laundry! Then we just carry the pillowcase down and wash that too each time

For laundry we transfer our clothes to an ikea bag, when we need to carry it downstairs (you can also use a laundry basket), but I prefer the ikea bag, because of the handles and the size :)

My favorite glass/mirror cleaning tool is a Norwex window cloth - it only requires water and leaves no streaks, so you could clean the mirror behind the stove very easily. It's a multi-level marketing company which is sort of 😕 but the product is great so I buy them anyway. I looked it up before I posted and there is someone in Australia that sells Norwex. I love the new house and can't wait to see more. Congratulations!

We have a laundry hamper upstairs (that is split into three for whites, colours and blacks) and then when I’m doing the washing I just put the load into a washing basket and carry the washing basket downstairs. Then once it’s washed and dried I take it back up in the basket to be put away
