We Bought a Side By Side! 2020 Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo is AWESOME!

After a few years of wanting a to buy a sxs we finally did it and with all the deals and rebates we decided the best bang for the buck would be this 2020 Can-Am Maverick X3! We ended up buying a base model 120hp unit but it won't take much to upgrade it to the 172 or 190+ hp range as it shares the same engine as the higher end models! We ended up taking it out to our local riding spot for a quick ride to see what it was all about and its crazy how fast and capable this thing is!

Own same machine...I have added every accessory can am sells, but the best you can install is the air intake relocation kit from adrenaline motorsports! I installed it, night ad day difference with cab noise

Oh!! And if you haven't yet!...go to Fox shock tune, they show you a diagram of what your shocks are to be set at...mine were off at least 3" from the factory

I see you are running with the green key have you tried the white I believe that’s the sport mode key more power

Our green key is the sport/performance key and the grey key shows up as the normal key lol🤷‍♂️

Ye some keys are programmed differently then yours might be. Still can’t believe he thinks the turbo is fast, need to try out the turbo rr

The 'white key' should be the performance key and the 'Green key' should be the detuned key. However, I have worked for a BRP dealer and they don't always program their keys correctly. I have a Can Am X3, the best indication of what the key is doing is to pay attention to which mode the car is starting in, indicated by the lower section of the dash upon start up.

Depending on who all would be riding 2 2 seaters I think would be the way to go more people get to drive and on long rides if you get stuck or break down someone can still go get tools help ect!

Nice! I have the same year and model as yours. The green key is the detuned or limited speed key and the grey is the performance key. I had to dig out the owners manual to verify it. It would be unusual if yours was programed differently. The video is over a year old. I am sure by now you have tested it with the grey key. Let us know please.

On our machine the green key is the one that shows up and says performance key. The grey one is the normal key and limits our unit to 45mph

@Build Tune Race Is your X3 color 'Can-Am Red' ? I just put a deposit on a '22 in Can-Am red and I'm having second thoughts about switching to carbon Black and Tan. It's an $800 upgrade. Your thoughts and can you confirm your color choice. Thanks in advance.

Yeah ours is the stock Can-Am red definitely looks orange in most lighting, but we really like the color!

@@BuildTuneRace Thanks for the reply, and the answer I was hoping for. I think I'll stick with the Can-Am red. I like the orange hue that comes through in your videos. It looks better than still pictures where the color simply simply looks Red. After tax it would have been $880 bucks to 'upgrade' to black and tan. I'll happily put that towards something more useful. 👍

So from what I’ve found out is the dunes is definitely a place you can use the extra power. I’d still assume your not the least powered machine there but getting up those big hills in the sand the more power the better. The nice thing with the 120 model is for I think around $1200 you can make it a 172 model by adding an intercooler adjusting the wastegate and a tune then all I think from there that is needed is a fuel pump to get it in the 190 range if you feel you need that extra power!
