What I like most about Alex is that once he takes possession of an object, he sees to it that it is either sold, passed off to someone else to profit from, given to goodwill , or properly recycled. If more people approached their possessions like he does, there might be less need for storage units. Alex, thought he does make a profit, he deserve it for the service he does for society in properly dealing with our limited resources.

I want to commend you on how much respect you have for the items that you find. You watch shows on TV and they literally just throw things in a pile looking for that "big score." It always makes me sad, because often times that is someone's life in that unit. Someone who either passed away or could simply no longer afford to pay the storage fees. That was myself and my husband 25 years ago as a young new couple. We had to move unexpectedly and put most of our belongings into a storage unit. Hard times hit and we lost the unit to auction. After all these years I still think about some of the things we lost (and Im not one to become attached to belongings AT ALL) but my husbands firefighter of the year award was in there. It warms my heart when I hear you say that you will return personal items etc to the owners. It would have meant the world to me for someone to have done that for us. So thank you, from someone who can relate to that situation very personally.

I think at an auction price of say $200, you would be happier. The problem is that so many people are out there now since Storage Wars came on TV that are trying to make a living this way, and margins are growing smaller and smaller as the initial auction prices rise.

First time watching your videos and I am absolutely hooked! Refreshing to see a nice family and to be able to go along with you on these treasure hunting adventures! Thank you for this fun and interesting entertainment.

The Edmonton Oilers Crockpot would be used by serious tailgaters. In the USA they meet hours before a game and have a huge party in the parking lot.

The WOW stuff is worth way more than you quoted it to be. Those big collector boxes that you drug out are worth A LOT if you hold out for the right collector.

@@CuriosityIncorporated......He looks like a "very" nice young gentleman. I hate to say it, but our society loves to compare......I thought of Harry Potter (even though I have never seen nor read any of the subject matter). Our society (MSM=main stream media) puts out images, thoughts and opinions. When the first "Spiderman" movie came out my nephew was getting inundated with finger pointing and cries of "Peter Parker" ! I couldn't see it ? Then I could see "slight" similarities, but he was no clone of Toby McGuire.

@@CuriosityIncorporated Well-spoken and respectable based on the concluding speech on the Potter's hoarding house presentation. That was an excellent and respectable summary of how the discovered treasures were allocated. Also, that was a lot of mess in that house, and (Alex or Stephen?) spoke with respect and dignity for that lady despite the habit of storing up everything.

i only have one comment for you and for anyone else who buys a storage unit. please be gentle with your thoughts towards the person who lost it. I lost a unit because my husband and i were promised a job by his brother several states away, and so we went with our six month old and all we could fit in the car. Everything else went into a storage unit. well, there was no job and by the time my husband could get one, i lost all of my things. There was a dollhouse that my grandfather had made and given to me... a set of dishes that was passed on to me by my grandmother...man, so many things. there is always a story behind why those units come up for sale.... so be gentle

Found this site from watching Taco Stacks. You two are both nice people who are honest about what stuff is worth unlike the 'reality' shows about storage lockers and pickers in general. Thumbs up and subscribed.

Just taking a moment to echo the love that others have poured out. I really love that personal documents and information are returned to the owner, they take care to pass off things that could benefit others to people that can work with them, stuff is donated, and trash is hauled away responsibly. My uncle had lost his house after a deep depression, where he literally just gave up and left the home before it was even closed. We lost family heirlooms (including flags from the caskets of military in the family), and we know he left behind a hoarder house situation. We saved what we could and put it into a storage unit, sold what we could, took in what we had space for. I can only imagine what they did with his house and everything he left behind.

Modern storage bin are mostly just like this, however it might be worth keeping an eye open for vintage lockers, some are absolute gems. Take a look at one 'Wades Venture' picked up recently.. Over a month and he's still videoing and cataloging a massive vintage collector haul.. You may even see some stuff you could buy for the shop too..

Also the CE boxes you won't get much unless they are/were sealed. They loose value by A LOT when opened as it's just random stuff you can get on the cheap online. MoP CE sealed was $80 Draenor was $90 as well taxes in brand new. Source I'm also a WoW player and have every collectors edition. The trading card game is just like Magic so some cards might be rare and might not. It's a huge gamble.
@nathan_sweet6 жыл бұрын
@@CuriosityIncorporated Sadly, scratched cards and used collectors editions have very little to no value. :( It's only the unused loot cards and sealed collector's editions that are worth more than a few dollars.
@destrierofdark_6 жыл бұрын
If you find cards that are however related to a trading card game (which then are usually in binders like that) then there's almost a guarantee there's value. My friend has well north of a thousand dollars in cards of his own I believe.
