Dr Suess books new now sell for up to $20. If they have coloring on the pages you can cover with a paper towel then wax paper then use a warm iron to heat and it may pull the color marks off. That is a nice little collection should sell.

Unfortunately, I think this is what is referred to in the business as a “staged locker”. It’s a culmination of stuff that is left in other storage lockers that was left behind by previous buyers. This is the way the management gets rid of leftover trash.

Yes that happens sometimes. I’m not sure why they do that. Like you’d have to know ahead of time that you’re going delinquent because once you don’t pay your bill you are locked out of your unit. So you literally can’t just go get the good stuff out. Unless you know ahead of time you’re going to stop paying. It’s so weird when people do that because they do get sent to collections for the balance that they owe, plus 42 days of late fees, a cut lock fee, certified letter fees etc. I don’t get it. If you know you can’t pay why wouldn’t you just empty the unit and not go delinquent? But this does happen.

I do not buy storage units online it's hard to tell what in them, as soon as you open the door I can tell somebody been through the locker everything had been turned upside down probably the former owner looking for stuff but sometimes the manager will help themselves to the most valuable items . But never stop trying the big score could be right around the corner.

paul They can’t do that unless they know ahead of time that they’re going to go delinquent, in which case you’d just take all your stuff so you don’t get charged all the fees. The very first day you don’t pay your bill you are locked out of your unit and you have no access to your things.

You should check all the pockets in the clothes you might find money. I go through everything even if it is yucky. I found a 2000 dollar ring in a yucky make up bag wrapped up in tissue paper. Look through all mail. I found 50.00 in a birthday card. You might find hidden treasures. 😀😀

One time a tenant went delinquent and we opened the unit to take pictures for the auction and it was like a couple trash bags of dirty clothes and a small box of expired can goods. Like literally some veggies and a can of spaghettio’s lol! Someone bought the unit for $20. I have a feeling they were pretty disappointed. 😬

You gotta be careful buying units online or just units in general as the storage unit owners/management tend to take one of their many empty units and fill it with shit they dont want as they cherry pick the units before anyone sees them first! They'll leave a few low price items but always s leave mattresses...futons...crap furniture and large at that!! Empty boxes, ect..they stage it well. Let's be real here...if you were willing to pay the outrageous fees for a storage unit, would you just throw your stuff in it (like the unit you bought lokked like)and not be more careful and tidy with your belongings? They do this so that YOU end up paying g THEM to discard THEIR garbage that they normally would have to pay for...be wary

But you do get units that were paid for monthly by all kinds of walks of life like the elderly who's had to move from a huge home to a seniors home...whos whole estate is in one locker and sadly becomes another monthly payment until they pass and sometimes just gets forgotten...or just people who are down on their luck and cant come up with payment...all kinds!

Her husband was a furniture maker, he restored the old furniture, she brought in, her brother does high end bookbinding and antique book sales, the daughter does upcycling of clothes and runs a fashion design and vintage store. Their youngest son (my old school buddy) does toy restoration and restoration of old electronics mainly retro games. When this family descends on a yard sale it is like a pack of locusts. The daughter even married a lawyer that does estate liquidation.
