Great cars, car parts and tools. This has the making of a great mini series and IMO is 100 times more interesting than any house clearance.

My dad worked for Kaiser. He owned one of the cars and liked them. When that was discontinued, he was transferred to Sao Paulo, Brazil to manage a Willys Jeep factory. We arrived there in 1958. We were there for two and half years and then Ford bought it. Willys Jeeps were used in WWII.

Kaiser also made DJ-5 jeeps for the US Postal Service. RWD with a Chevy 153 cubic inch engine and a 2 speed automatic. One seat, hard top, no shoulder belt and an all metal dash. It was very dangerous. I bought one for $600 in 1979. Mine was LHD but some were RHD.

Oh Alex, I’m so happy for you! So often you walk into situations that would terrify most people and you don’t know for some time what you have gotten yourself into. This adventure has you excited from the first peek under the car cover. I’m almost as anxious as you to see what is next. Good things happen to good people and I think you are so deserving of this. I’m not a typist so I will have to go back to view this. I could not wait to comment till later. Keep digging!!!

This was so exciting. If it’s any consolation Jason is exactly like my son at the same age. They feign boredom and ennui, but are soaking it up. Spending time with them is the most precious thing you can do at that age and keeping communication open and non judgemental. I was always “polite” and made sure they had plenty of breaks and praise. You look like you are doing an amazing job working as a family. I can’t wait to see what is in the garage attic…. Possums?

Dude, check all the fluids before starting an idle car. Pull all the spark plugs and squirt WD first, then a good amount of engine oil. You don't care if it makes smoke and doesn't start. You only want to circulate the oil, turn key off. Repeat. Once it sounds like the motor is turning over smoothly, then you let it start. That damage not following these steps on a long idle car is why so many old cars have low compression.

From his previous videos, you can see he has been doing this for a few years. But he might need an update. Such as a stable camera clipped on the collar of his t-shirt or a camera onto a tripod next to him, so that he's able to use both hands to hold onto things. He mentioned in a previous video that he has sciatica pain. Probably from all the turning in tight spaces and holding things, very heavy things from one side of his body, my grandfather had movement issues as he got older from doing so as well. And his knee pain was insufferable as he described it, too. I really want Alex to continue doing these videos but I also want him to care for his health first.

Oh my gosh, the bedtime stories book! We had one of those more than 60 years ago, which I read all the way through over and over again when I was about 7 years old. I'd forgotten all about it when we excavated my mother's attic after her death... and there was the book. A bit worse for wear (the one you found in the garage is in MUCH better shape) but all the pages at least are intact. I brought it home, and one of these days I'll actually read through it and try to figure out why I was so enamored of it all those long years ago.
