I knew where one of those sat for years at the original owners house, for sale down a dead end road. It sold last summer. I had my eye on it for years but never had the time money or space. Rare and weird. Perfect.

I'm putting a 401 and 727 Torque Command trans in my 1979 non-AMX Spirit. Should be fun to drive without the need to spend the performance increase bucks.

After it survives this crazy road trip (hopefully) there's a very good chance this car will see a second life as a racecar. Whether it continues to be powered by the 304 or we step up to a 360 when that day comes.. we'll see ;)

Right after this yes Sir they did! Honestly when I saw the photo of this thing at first I thought it was a 4 wheel drive due to how it sit. But she's a 304 V8 4 speed RWD, sounds like a good place to start!

4wheel was called eagle sx4, that spirit amx has pontential!

No, that was the eagle.. same same but different. These late amx’s are pretty rare.
