The thing that still bothers me and I forget to bring it up because it's painful for a lot of ladies but him recording Raquel. He's never been responsible for that. It's just not right right? And they just let it slide. He needs to be charged for that. Where's the justice for Rachel/ Raquel?

Love that you mention Stassi, who was right about Sandoval all along, she knew he was an arrogant, lying, delusional narcissist from the beginning and kept her distance. The men have always been favoured by Lisa, production and Andy

I think the problem is that Tom was this kind of guy before and the show gave him the protection to fully embrace his bad behavior. Reality TV has got to get better with helping these folks with their mental health instead of exploiting them.

What's interesting is that the interview was in December, so the NYT sat on it for almost 2 months. The question is whether any producer asked for the transcript of the interview and if they did think what he said was okay. Even the interviewer was trying to explain what she thought Tom meant. They'll drop everything to pick up the cameras to film your demise, but once they're turned off, you're on your own. If Bethany Frankel wasn't in Rachel's corner, she would have a field day with this.

Tom is a heavy user mind-altering substances and the line between life and storylines seems to have completely eroded for him. Talking in seasons instead of years? Keeping his house lighting film ready? His brain is mulch and he can't comprehend the consequences of his actions he's a character, it's the next season and his storyline is a redemption arc. The storyline previously used for Jax and James isn't taking and he's not clear on why.

Great episode! Something else that I think is important to note that Sandoval either overlooks or simply chooses to ignore is that while Scandoval "breathed a new life" into pump rules, he also (I think) unintentionally invited the media into the cast's lives in a way that we truly had not seen on this show before. Post Scandoval Ariana and Tom's house had paparazzi staked outside almost 24/7 for a really long time. I remember watching the episode of Call Her Daddy that Ariana was on and seeing on a bonus episode that premiered after that when Ariana showed up to Alex Cooper's house there was a decent amount (maybe 2-4 paparazzi) following her with long lenses and watching her as she entered and exited. While, yes, the whole cast chooses to broadcast their lives and invite people "in" through the show and social media, them being watched doing daily activities and followed around was something that felt very unprecedented for the show. I saw an episode of Scheana's podcast where she talks about an experience that she had with the paparazzi after hanging out with Ariana where she began to fear for her and Summer Moon's safety. I understand that a Rachel (and maybe even Tom) might have called the paps on themselves a few times, and maybe some other cast members too, but I think this situation was very different and not asked for. That's why it irks me when Tom talks about how Ariana and the rest of the cast capitalized so heavily off of Scandoval because I think that for the most part a lot of them were playing with the cards that they were dealt. However, he loves to ignore the fact that the whole cast also faced repercussions of being watched and noticed in a way that they hadn't before. Sorry for the long tangent but I just thought about it after listening to this episode and thought it might be a relevant comment!

This is probably not how I’m supposed to feel, but I’m starting to just be…ambivalent toward Sandoval? And I think it’s because I keep devouring all these things he goes on - the Viall podcast, this NYT interview - and instead of empathy, he just feels like a caricature. He’s so fully embraced this version of himself that exists on TV and even when he’s crying, “this is my life,” every podcast he goes on proves he’s learned nothing. I don’t hate him, I certainly don’t like him, but it’s mostly because he doesn’t even feel real at this point. I’m not sure if this makes any sense? 😅

The filming of this season, in real time, was 2 months after they filmed the reunion. It was too soon for Ariana or anyone who was genuinely hurt to be far along in the healing process. The fan reactions & comments on SM are a mix of people relating back to the actual time they filmed, to the ones who think in present time. The “split” in the cast is less about the hurt, betrayal and deception and more about fake & phony reconciliation under the guise of Tom’s bogus mental health crisis. For the sake of milking a few more seasons/paychecks out of a show that’s lost any sense of reality! The cast and production are pissing down our legs and telling us it’s raining.

Tell us how you really feel! 😂😂 Jk, totally agree, it’s so tough watching this season, knowing how soon this was after it all went down, I’m sure if they were filming now it would be a lot more even keeled, but tensions were high, Tom & Ariana were still in a house together, still figuring all this stuff out, still very much in the thick of it, and it’s weird and awkward to watch as a result, and unfortunately the behaviour of the rest of the cast isn’t helping the situation.

I’d wager, Tom views his indoctrination into the VPR box-set as his most revered and timeless-pieces. The thought, that those objective facts can not and will never be altered-perceived profoundment, sure does makes Tom feel warm, fuzzy, and safe on the inside! 😩😢😪🍼🧷. Forever, trying to make ‘Tom-Tom Land’ a thing. Meanwhile, the rest of the world stay-chillin at LaLa’s. Does anyone else concede that Tom Sandoval gives-off Vecna vibes from season four’s ‘Stranger Things!?’ Forget Hawkins, West Hollywood’s Upside Down/In-between; back at his bar-Sandoval remains, its purported he’s tether-bounded, encapsulating the bar, VPR box-set, and that damn “Tom-Tom” sign!
