Since it’s a pandemic, I’m assuming you’re mostly thinking of Living in different places in Europe, in which case I highly recommend Lisbon! As someone who has traveled a lot, it is definitely my favorite city in Europe. It is so incredibly beautiful, safe, so much history and different people, so much life and the most wonderful people, AND there is SO MUCH TO DO. Easily the most underrated city in Europe. I would maybe recommend it more towards spring because the areas around Lisbon in Portugal are just beautiful empty sand beaches and mountains and all which is probably nicer with warmer weather

I agree, but I live in Lisbon so I'm biased 🤭 Just please make sure you move to Lisbon in a somewhat (I understand that it's hard) sustainable way. Rent is crazy and super not accessible to people here and it's very much (but not only) because of foreigners renting airbnbs and temporary rental places at huge prices. If you're staying here for tourism please consider one of the amazing hostels/hotels we have in the city 🥰

How do you meet people and make friends in a new place? That’s the always the hardest part of moving somewhere new for me
@alyssavocadoo3 жыл бұрын
i think the best way is probably attending local events(get brochures at the tourist info centre!), becoming a regular at a certain place(a cafe, pub etc) or going to places where you have a great chance of meeting lots of people(again, a cafe for example)! and don't hesitate to talk to people, cause chances are they feel as awkward/scared/shy as you, as well! you can go from having a wide circle of acquaintances to having a smaller circle of friends just give yourself some time to adjust, be patient, and everything will fall into place eventually :) edit: advice from an introvert who tries to be more extroverted from time to time in order to survive hahah😙

Sometimes we'd find a live one that would chase us around the living room or sleep in our laundry. Sometimes we'd find a dead one that our cats had discovered first. And once I woke up to bat noises in the middle of the night. I looked all around the apartment, but couldn't find the source of the chirping, so I assumed it was outside the window and returned to bed. Well, turns out it was UNDER MY PILLOW. I almost died.

The way he speaks about working in the publishing industry has exactly the same energy when I explain to my friends, family and basically everyone who asks me what I want to do after I graduate. Every single day I complain about my communications (degree) essays is one day when I tell myself that’s it’s going to be so worth it when I am able to say: I work in the book industry.

Why am I crying about the beautiful way you talked about your ex-girlfriend? So respectful and the way everyone deserves to be treated.

I just discovered you yesterday and I have been binging. I am a literature student who does not read much at all and your book review videos are really helpful. I literally read the entirety of 'Before the coffee goes cold' yesterday because of you.
