Since it’s a pandemic, I’m assuming you’re mostly thinking of Living in different places in Europe, in which case I highly recommend Lisbon! As someone who has traveled a lot, it is definitely my favorite city in Europe. It is so incredibly beautiful, safe, so much history and different people, so much life and the most wonderful people, AND there is SO MUCH TO DO. Easily the most underrated city in Europe. I would maybe recommend it more towards spring because the areas around Lisbon in Portugal are just beautiful empty sand beaches and mountains and all which is probably nicer with warmer weather

I agree, but I live in Lisbon so I'm biased 🤭 Just please make sure you move to Lisbon in a somewhat (I understand that it's hard) sustainable way. Rent is crazy and super not accessible to people here and it's very much (but not only) because of foreigners renting airbnbs and temporary rental places at huge prices. If you're staying here for tourism please consider one of the amazing hostels/hotels we have in the city 🥰

I was actually quite concerned when I saw your last video (about adulting) and wanted to reach out but didn't know what to say but I'm glad you seem to be doing better. You do always have us and I personally support everything you need to do to feel better (even if it means less content 😭) but just remember that you truly are never alone. Reach out to people you love when you're feeling under the weather people who have known you since you were a kid and have that kind of unconditional undying love for you no matter how long you stay apart (there's usually one or two people in a lifetime like that but you're lucky if you do have them!). @alyssavocadoo
@alyssavocadoo 3 жыл бұрын
i think the best way is probably attending local events(get brochures at the tourist info centre!), becoming a regular at a certain place(a cafe, pub etc) or going to places where you have a great chance of meeting lots of people(again, a cafe for example)! and don't hesitate to talk to people, cause chances are they feel as awkward/scared/shy as you, as well! you can go from having a wide circle of acquaintances to having a smaller circle of friends just give yourself some time to adjust, be patient, and everything will fall into place eventually :) edit: advice from an introvert who tries to be more extroverted from time to time in order to survive hahah😙

When I was in med school I had to stay at a vacation home to make it to the hospital in time. I shared the house with 5-6 other students at a time, it was a foresty area, and unfortunately we also had mice. Once when I was just about to go to sleep, my roommate opened her backpack and a mouse JUMPED out and started running around the room. I'm not usually scared of mice, but I don't think I've ever screamed quite as hard as I did then lol.

Love listenning to you talking about books and seeing you so passionate about it ! These are some of my favorite French novels (just in case and if you haven't already read them), I'll put the titles in French: La Dame aux Camélias by Alexandre Dumas (son), Le Guetto Intérieur by Santiago Amigorena and Claire de Femme by Romain Gary. La Dame aux Camélias is the book that made fall in love with literature. I am happy you are having a good time in Paris, it gets beautiful during Christmas time !

In response to your mouse-in-pocket story, I'd like to share one of my own. Bats lived inside the walls of my old apartment building. Sometimes we'd find a live one that would chase us around the living room or sleep in our laundry. Sometimes we'd find a dead one that our cats had discovered first. And once I woke up to bat noises in the middle of the night. I looked all around the apartment, but couldn't find the source of the chirping, so I assumed it was outside the window and returned to bed. Well, turns out it was UNDER MY PILLOW. I almost died.

The way he speaks about working in the publishing industry has exactly the same energy when I explain to my friends, family and basically everyone who asks me what I want to do after I graduate. Every single day I complain about my communications (degree) essays is one day when I tell myself that’s it’s going to be so worth it when I am able to say: I work in the book industry.
