Nice to see other 185 builds on here. People underestimate what a small bike is capable of. Sure the engine is small, but the bike weighs nothing! The 185 xl's and cm's are very capable bikes when setup for riding dirt.

Did you say 116 hp ? Or 16hp ?... I’m am keenly interested in these smaller motorcycles, configures as scramblers,enduros. What I’m finding is a growing interest in these bikes, and they are becoming more expensive to find in nice shape like the one that you have in this video. I believe that these bikes will stand the test of time and look and tun great after another 40 years. The new stuff is all plastic and computers, the old stuff just runs.
@AlwoodWick3 жыл бұрын
Should be 16hp :) these bikes are awesome and like you say has stood the rest of time and will continue to do so. Blessings

Hi, putting a 18 inch front wheel needs to change the angle front fork and open it a little bit or I can keep the original angle? I'm talking about stability...
@AlwoodWick4 жыл бұрын
Good point but stability was perfectly fine with this 18” front - runs really smoothly with no issues

@TheFlemmo1233 жыл бұрын
I'm in the process of building a scrambler and its my first project bike. However I'm going pretty much the exact opposite direction of this build. I was under the impression that scrambler exhaust is supposed to go pretty tight down the side of the motorcycle for greater ground clearance, the shocks are often convertet from mono to the more classic dual shock setup. I'm sorry but this build is not what I consider a scrambler at all. You could have gone for a flat tracker instead maybe?
@AlwoodWick3 жыл бұрын
hi friend. You are right, the standard build would have the exhaust go down the side as you have said but customer desired a different vibe. also this bike was converted to mono for more comfort as well and move away from the dual shock set up - again another customer desire. but you are absolutely correct, this is probably leaning more towards a tracker style. All the best with your build too! Have fun and ride safe :) blessings
@durayenterprisesllc44404 жыл бұрын
There's a skid plate...but you fabricated an exhaust pipe that hangs down 3 inches lower? Seems very impractical for a scrambler.
@AlwoodWick4 жыл бұрын
you’re right friend, this was a customer design decision for aesthetics, knowing that they wouldn’t need that extra clearance for their style of riding, but yes if being used at its best, would need to re-route the exhaust higher up.
@RogueBro5 жыл бұрын

did think the same at the start but the seat size looked out of proportion as it needed to be big enough for a 2 seater - the original tank has been kept as a memory from his father to hang on the wall of the garrage though!
