Great vid guys. The consistency and frequency of your content is outstanding. I used to watch Wheeler Dealers and all the re-runs but now I don’t bother as your content is always fresh and authentic. And you guys do this day in, day out, always on time with limited resources while running a business. You achieve so much more than these big ticket productions with budgets and camera teams. KUDOS to you both - keep it going. 1m subs is gonna happen and it’s gonna be 100% well deserved.

I went down to Silverlake to look at bonnet for my 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Absolutely brilliant service - stripped it from the vehicle so that I could inspect it before buying, came with brackets, bolts, washer pipes, clips etc. It was perfect and in colour for £100. Really professional.

Just a thought...depending on how the odometer system is designed, the actual driven mileage of the car could be much less than the indicated mileage. It's possible that all the towed mileage has been counted as well, which would reduce the driven mileage by a lot! This was the case with the old fashioned speedo cable days but nowadays, who knows?

I have one of these and I had a roof and boot issue however I found out there is a reset routine for the roof. I found this out on the fiat 500 forums. I got that issue sorted and now the only regular issue I get is the stop start disconnecting even after a getting a new battery. Mine is a twin air lounge and is on 90,000 miles now however it’s a great little car in my opinion. You guys are amazing, another great video Rob and I look forward to the conclusion of it. 😀

Rob, if you put a fully discharged battery on a trickle charger for a couple of days it will take and hold a charge. The needle may take a day to move and when up to max will then come back down to zero when full.

Great video Rob. We had on the 500 hatch two broken wires where the loom went from the roof into the hatch . I had to cut back and run new wire. It was due to flexing of the loom at Thant point. Looks as if these cars are a bit weak on electrics. I look forward to seeing you fix it and I know you will!

Good little car and great video rob, think you have hit the nail on the head with the electrics I would say someone has removed relays or a module associated with it being coupled to a motor home and either left a lot of cut wires or got them mixed up and also maybe lost the earth to them as well. You could probably save a lot of time by asking the previous owner who done the conversion on it to allow the motorhome to control its lights then ringing them and asking them how they convert a cars lights to be operated by a motorhome

Awesome work from Silverlake & who knows what the future might hold there...... Creacking little bit of footage from their driver too. these do make good content when the issues are unusual, I did notice the MOT miles are out, to the odo reading & also the damage to the steering wheel logo - not sure it that's a part of the airbag but it does let it down a bit. The car looks great & I'm sure will make fabulous content and a great ride for someone. Given used car prices these are going to be popular when they come up for sale.

Awesome video as always lads. Don’t know if it’s relevant with it being a cabby but my sister in law has a 2008 500 hard top and she had problems with the wiring loom (inside the rubber trucking)where it comes out of the body at the top left hand of the boot . It actually cut through a few of the wires due to the boot opening and closing which in turn caused the rear brake lights , central locking and a few other things to stop working completely. Apparently this is a “thing” with the 500’s so it’s something you and Chris could look into ..? Hope this helps ..look forward to the next one guys 👍🏻😃

love it Rob, some of those cars that are towed by motorhomes have a brake vacuum system fitted so they brake when the motorhome brakes,, might be worth a look
@dominicwebb80003 жыл бұрын
Just thinking - your headlight and rear loom problems - it's had that camper tow hitch fitted, they often splice into the loom to run the rear lights on the towed car instead of a trailer board. You can put the trailer plug in the wrong way round if you are very ham fisted and use enough force, might have blown some fuses or a BCM? Or the splice into the loom is actually causing the issues as they have used those splice blocks? We have an 11 plate 500c and the rear loom seems to take less stress than with the 500 hatchbacks... so it might all be connected to the hitch fitting?
@miae63 жыл бұрын
I did a worong repair on one of those and chopping through the loom i shorted it and took the fuse for the central locking (or something like that i cant remember 100%) its worth having a look

Hi Rob, top work I love all the videos you and Chris keep putting out 👍🏻 I work for Fiat and if it helps there is a wiring loom repair kit available from Fiat, also in regards to the range not showing up on the Speedo, these did suffer with faulty Speedo/clocks, we replaced so many of these under warranty. Can vouch that these little cars are easy to work on even by amateur mechanics. I've been working on my North American 2015 Fiat 500 Abarth for a year and a half, doing routine maintenance, a few repairs, and a decent number of mods! I do most of the work at a local DIY garage which has car lifts, tools and proper disposal facilities. The garage is run by a professional mechanic who double-checks your work to make sure everything's safe and sound.

@katywalker83223 жыл бұрын
We had a couple of 155s. Electrically no real issues. One had a front passenger window that didn’t work, but never bothered to look into it. Other had the boot release fail, which was a broken wire from the car body to the bootlid and easily fixed (once I got over being confused by the latch working with the boot open , and not with the boot closed!). Otherwise no electrical gremlins.
