Just recently learned that our bylaw officer has told a local produce stand to close for a violation concerning parking after a complaint by one of their neighbours. It's so sad that a local business is not being supported in a time when we are trying to shop local and help small businesses. I love buying produce from local growers.

Can you call the produce stand and ask if they have other "locations" or any by-appointment sales?
@jkbeattyable
@jkbeattyable Жыл бұрын
@@theUcane apparently they tried to reach some sort of compromise with the office but to no avail. There is a public campaign to appeal the decision and it is my understanding adirect neighbour has offered to help place the stand in an area between their properties. Time will tell if the efforts will help.

Becky, would you consider doing some videos on the creator side of the channel “how you do it” You know, how you start it, mistakes you made, how you learned, tutorials that you had taken, equipment, logistics, planning, editing, time investment, etc. Your channel rocks, and the community can learn a lot about from your success

An idea for freezer meals for limited spaces. I am the expert on this as I have lots of experience... If you do make casseroles or meals for a pyrex dish, put plastic wrap, then foil down in your pyrex dish, then parchment. Assemble your casserole. Cover. Place in the freezer. After it freezes, take the casserole out and wrap one more time in foil. If it needs cheese or crumb cover added right before it is done, I add it to a ziplock and place it on top of the casserole BEFORE I put the final foil on top so it is all in the same package. On top label it, date it, and add cooking instructions. Then they sit on top of each other and don't take up the space a pyrex dish takes up.

The hospice nurse assigned to my mom raises pigs on the side. I wanted to stay connected after my mom passed last year, so I order 1/2 pig once a year. It's a great time to see how she and her husband are doing and to get some of the best pork in the area. The butcher they subcontract to even grinds the fat so that I can easily render down lard in my Nesco. I ended up with about 10 pints of lard for cold storage and a wonderful product for pies and frying. 🙂

On Blue Jay Acres, Noel just gets ground pork but without seasoning, so she can either season it herself once she owns the meat for some meals and cook it with a different seasoning for other recipes so it doesn't taste like breakfast sausage. Gives her flexibility. Your Mom's cake is beautiful!!

I put in a greenhouse one year; aluminum and clear corrugated plastic fto let in light. It was not in an extremely windy area, and I was constantly going into my neighbors yards to retrieve the plastic "windows" that came in it. I even silicone sealed them in and then I ran a roping system around them to help keep them in place! Overall, not a good setup- very frustrating trying to keep it together through the New England winters.

Barbara Kingsolver wrote Animal-Vegetable, Mineral. Great story of an American family that travels East to a rural farm from Arizona. Their journey continues as they learn how to grow their own family farm. As a family who has the same struggles and situations we all face. She writes with humor of all the real life lessons, and how they learned. Liked it very much.

I type in ingredients to find recipes or part of the name - like sausage, biscuits, peach, etc. then it brings up a subset of recipes with those ingredients in the name or recipe. But I agree with you - a different format would be very helpful.

Hi Becky. I'm in Arizona and I sure miss having a real nice garden and my farm. I just have to get used to the weather 🌡️. You keep me grounded for sure. I love you so much because you respect the way the animals are treated it means so much but people forget about that. Yes Curry is perfect. Good luck with the green house. Lets do it together. Thanks for your attitude and perseverance. You are great

Hey Becky, we've switched to the starlink internet here in Montana and it's been great. Happy Early Easter! Our baby is about here! Supposed to be induced April 19th but he is very low and might be coming this next week. I'm so excited for your garden space, it's coming along beautiful! I'm looking to get a couple beds done this year but kinda depends on recovery.
