Flower stems are like drinking straws and air will travel up the stem once it is cut and stop the flower from getting any water. The trick to keeping any cut flowers longer is to cut the stems long and then cut away a further 2 inches while the stem is in water. I love that your favourite nursery is allowing you to place your lovely product at their location. This is how local businesses support each other to help a community thrive. :)

Hi Cog Hill Family, I am really loving how your new houses are looking. Your paint choice for mother-in-law’s house is lovely!!! It is so wonderful to see the progress that you all are making on your new place. You all will have many happy years in your new house. I am almost 70 years old ( BD June 15th I will be 70) and am retiring from a 34 year high school teaching career. I am currently living and working on the Navajo reservation in New Mexico. New Mexico is a beautiful state!!! However, I am moving back to my home state of Texas on June 10th. I will be renting a house that I rented 8 years ago that I lived in for 4 years. I have moved liked a ping pong ball the past 20 years and this house is the one place that when I walked in the front door I felt at home. My landlady is a doll and when I moved out 8 years ago, she told me that I was the best tenant she had ever had. It is a darling old house with a guest bedroom so I will be able to have overnight guests every once in awhile. Thank you for your channel! I am loving every minute of it! Elizabeth Clark Crownpoint, NM ( until June 10th).

Watching You all has made me realize how much I miss my feathered babies. I had many birds in my life thus far and I bred cockatiels and parakeets for a time. I moved to Florida and became the proud Momma of a Cockatoo named Baby and she was my greatest love as far as my feathered babies went. When I moved from FL, I had to rehome her and I was crushed. I moved back to WI, I wasn't going to drive her because it was in the winter when I moved (1,800 miles) and I certainly wasn't going to fly her. She went to a home that loves her. Watching your channel I realized how much I missed the company they bring. Sooooo 2 days ago I became the proud momma of a parakeet!! I wasn't going to until I saw she had a fractured wing that healed badly. Then and there I knew I was going to bring her home. Her name is now Maddie

Oh wow! Brooke's mom's house is looking so amazing already! Love the grey walls too. Now I can't stick to just one color on the walls, I want all the colors lol. Having lived in military housing for over a long time where the walls (and ceiling! who does that!?) were all a boring tan, I just want every room to have its own "flavor".
@sandragillingham62552 жыл бұрын
Haha, I lived in Military housing for 11 years it was the same color on walls and ceilings too and when I bought my house I painted every room a different color over the years though I'm swaying to what they're doing one color throughout.

@terryhenderson4242 жыл бұрын
@@sandragillingham6255 Something you can do to tie the rooms together (wall colors withstanding) is paint the ceilings the same color. Or, paint the ceilings you see in a single view the same color. Often "the ceilings you can see in a single view" are the common area ceilings such as hallways, living room/ great room, open dining rooms, and sometimes the kitchen. Doors on rooms tend to break the eyes' sweeping travels whether the doors themselves are open or not. Room separators on the ceiling such as a beam either open and wood or enclosed in sheet rock be it a beam or duct work, provide an opportunity to change ceiling colors. - The PROBLEM with this is that unless you have great painting skills, it is best to paint all those ceilings you can see with one sweeping view at the same time and thats a lot of ceiling to paint at one time; plus, often the lighting gets a little more shadowy down hallways.

We built our house on the ocean here in Nova Scotia, 12 years ago and at first we had 2 colours for the bedrooms and the living room/kitchen. We repainted the whole interior again 8 years ago and painted the whole house the same colour, a light white grey... looks more white than grey... and we love it. I think it makes the house just look larger and brighter. Many people who visit say the same thing.. We also changed the colour of the front door from a cherry colour to black and we love that too...We have concrete floors too but we added black so we have black floors, white walls, black exterior front door... love the simplicity not unlike what you have done. So in a long winded way, I love your choices...there is elegance in simplicity.
