Clear indicator that this country needs to get back to producing our own needs instead of relying on imported products. Tighten our belts, reduce our pleasures to our needs, square our shoulders and carry on. I listened to my grandparents, and still listen to my 92 year old mother. I turn 68 Friday Cassie. Enjoy ya'lls 40's. Cherish them in fact. You don't miss things until they are gone forever.

There are not enough farm land. Too much work. Entitled generations. Only older farms seem to survive because it is a welcoming family farm life
@juliehagan38532 ай бұрын
@@SusieDaw-ix6pv farms aren't thriving like they use to. Between weather, price of seeds and trying to get non gmo seeds are almost impossible these days. Not to mention the market values of what they grow( livestock included). Weather plays a big role, both in plant growers as well as livestock, the main thing farms need is water. Yep, being a farmer these days is very hard, or even a rancher. Most small farms like what Gary and Cassie are doing is for family maintenance and there is nothing wrong with that either. I salute all small farms that are making it work.

I remember my 40th birthday that was about 22 years ago. It's not until moments like this when it's one of y'all's birthdays that I am reminded of how old you guys are because I don't think of you as being the same age as my son and I only have one child and that you guys I'm old enough to be your mother and then I feel really old. But happy birthday to you Cassie I hope you have a fabulous 40th birthday as I did. Enjoy yourself immensely.

As a third generation jeweler in my mid 60’s, raised around watchmakers including my watchmaker grandfather and father, the reason people have worn watches in the opposite arm as your dominant arm is to create less damage to the watch. Things like the crystals (glass or plastic fronts) for cracking, scratching and breaking, crowns (knobs to set time) being torn off, buttons on digital styles from getting broken, keep it from getting wet as often from reaching into running water, make watch bands last longer and so on. Of course it was more important when watches relied on internal wheels and oils that shock from hammering and other dominant activities would destroy watches (sweat and water too), but todays watches would appreciate the care to last longer as well.

Thats right Cassie painting a white board white is dumb. I remember my 48th birthday. It was 40 years ago. the paper shortage is just crazy same as it was during covid. I use 2 rolls of paper towels a year. I was raised when you washed your hands you used a cloth towel and still do. I had a small camper several years ago and had a portable potty in it.

Schoolie Toilet: Your toilet is great. I spent 3 weeks in Malawi where their toilet is a hole in the ground covered with a rock. They were nice enough at the mission to build a 2' brick chimney over a hole and saddle it with a toilet chair like yours. It was donated to them by Doctors without boarders because it was bent. I was grateful for this bent chair and the chimney it sat on. Lol, I was two old to squat because I would probably end up falling on the hole

Let the kids sign/draw/create on it, their ideas (with some rules of course) In years to come, you, Gary, and them will be able to look back on it and see what their thoughts of camping in the skoolie were. The commode will still be able to be used even if the vehicle is moving. You saying the pullover, cardigan comment made me laugh!! Blessings to your sweet family!

We used to camp almost every weekend during the summer in Michigan. We had a really easy to set up dome tent, UNTIL...one night the tent next to us had a man that snored like a black bear. LOUDLY. He kept up the whole camp. Other than that, well and a tornado that we hid from in Niagara Falls, Canada, we always had amazing camping experiences. One trip to Northern Michigan, we had several trumpeter swans land on the lake near our remote camping area. That was way cool.

Cassie, my 40s were the best decade of my life! I finally felt I had grown up. I learned to say “no” when I needed my space. My kids were getting more independent. I had time to explore what I wanted for the next half of my life. Embrace your age and get to know Cassie, the person. I’m now 77 and there have been major changes in my life and not all positive, but at least I’m still alive. My mind functions quite well. I’m relatively healthy and independent, but I also care for my husband who is not as fortunate. He has dementia, diabetes and mobility issues. Our life is much quieter and restricted. My time of finding myself as a person, not wife, not mother, has helped me deal with my life as it is now.

Just an idea Gary you might want to put shock absorbing material within the frame for Fridge etc as the vibration in The Skoolie when travelling can be tough. I speak from experience as my Dad built our mobile home from a big old Ford food truck. He found he had to use flexible materials as the truck vibrations cracked or separated things. I know Cassie it’s just a glorified tent 😂 Pullover, no it’s a jumper but thanks for noticing😝😝😝❤️
