@@JordanTaylorVideos I don't have instagram, so I'm glad this video was made. I've struggled with my health for over 7 years due to an intestinal parasite, malaria, and a handful of rounds of Covid. I have so many food sensitivities, and I hope that this won't be the case the rest of my life. I'm unable to cook all my own food due to how severe my symptoms can get at times, but I do the best I can with what I have. I take all-natural supplements, which have helped, but I haven't seen a drastic change yet. I hope to improve, but I'm not sure how at the moment. I had a similar childhood food wise. We never ate out, never got the sugar food (fruit roll ups, sugar cereals, etc),no drive throughs. Same as ya’ll we got to eat it if someone offered it to us. My mom just liked to cook and bake herself. She didn’t do frozen meals and didn’t even want us to eat cereal for breakfast. She would rather feed us eggs or oatmeal. I feel so blessed that she was so dedicated o making sure she fed us well. 🙂

When you guys made the dairy-intolerance video, I was struggling with debilitating symptoms that made it nearly impossible for me to care for my kids. I remember watching that video with a massive migraine and realizing that it was my food that was killing me. I gave up dairy (improved a little) and then gluten a couple years after, which was the real culprit. I know I can do more to heal my body, but I am already so much better than I was and am so grateful that I watched that video because it spurred my gut-health journey. So thank you!

Sounds like blood sugar imbalance. I struggled with that for years and people kept saying to eat more protein but then I eventually figured out that I needed not just more protein but more fat. When I started eating more fat I started seeing improvement. Also, eat something every 2-3 hours to avoid not realizing you’re hungry until you’re overly hungry and sick. Hope that helps you a bit!
@sarataylorhealth11 ай бұрын
@@SweetPetunia897 good advice! Except the part about eating every 2 hours! You should go at least 4 hours between meal. Eating every 2 hours actually contributes to metabolic dysfunction which can cause all those symptoms. It’s also bad for gut health!

I particularly like the conversation about our connection to meat you've started here. This is the very reason I've started eating vegetarian, then I continued for environmental reasons. And now studying veterinarian science, I get a unique look into the meat industry and it's brutal. Animals aren't always handled as living beings but as products, stuff like that. This conversation is too long for a yt comment, but take my 2 cents (or leave it).

Just remember this advice is not for everyone. 3 meals a days is not best for everyone. People with dysautonomia like myself do better with frequent small meals rather than 3 larger meals with less blood sugar drops and spikes.
@sarataylorhealth11 ай бұрын
Eating 2-3 meals is actually how you avoid frequent glucose spikes and drops! Needing to eat every 2-3 hours is a sign of metabolic dysfunction and can typically be overcome with diet changes! Eating several smaller meals a day is one factor that causes the dysfunction. I work on this with a lot of my clients!

@achillesbuchanan20952 ай бұрын
I respect your youthful enthusiasm, but the least reliable science is self-diagnosed and alternatively treated symptoms (and the same for family diagnosis - spouse to spouse, etc - the most inaccurate is that of a parent and child). It’s good to eat healthy and enjoy homesteading, but don’t fall for the mistake of inadvertently creating your own kind of well-intended but fearful cult. The real science is that many organic foods are ultimately worse for the environment and therefore the end consumer. Most micronutrient micromanagement is a waste of time and money. Life and diet is mostly about “all things in moderation”, and that can include occasional takeaway food or processed treats. Unless you have extremely rare and lab proven allergies, living as I’ve described is going to make 0% difference over the purest organic diet with herbal or other supplements, etc. In fact, a sensible balanced diet, which can include everything from a home grown feast to takeaway pizza and ice cream, is also good for a healthy, balanced mind that is open and reasonable and remains relatable to others. Don’t get lost down rabbit holes. Don’t get too intense or self-obsessed. And that includes most of the hype over household toxins. There are some legitimate things to be aware of, but most make 0% difference and going to the trouble and expense to eliminate them all effectively achieves nothing, except that you can have this imaginary sense of security of a “pure” environment. Chill, dudes.
