Another Great adventure into history. You never fail Todd. Best channel on KZbin. I've been busy helping a friend and am slow getting to watch your videos. I do hope it's not as hot there as it is here. Even with the a.c. while working I about got sick. I guess at 76 i shoudnt be crawling around on my hands and knees and climbing ladders but when your cleaning for someone else you do what you got to do. I also thank God that at my age I'm still nimble enough to do it. I count everyday as a blessing because with having had cancer twice and dealing with Crohns disease since 20 yrs old I never thought I'd make it to 60. God is good or maybe he just isn't ready to deal with this crazy old woman. Habe a blessed day and an awesome 4th. Thank you for your service too.

Hey Gay I'm sure I would love to sit on the front porch of an evening and hear all of your stories. Your activities remind me on one of my landowners who recently turned 87, and came to visit in her new Ford pick-up truck. She was ready to go tromp through some woods and show me new sites. For the record, we have had HOT and DRY weather here. My grass is dead, garden and some trees needing watered. Yesterday was the first cool day we had in 2 weeks at least. We need rain bad. Please be careful outside Gay and drink lots of water. Keep active but do be careful and thanks for being a super fan.

I gave up sodas and sweet teas about 10 yrs ago. I keep water with me at all times. I have coffee in the mornings and then switch to water. My doctor said it was one ofnthe best things I could have done. In the summer time I put bottles in the freezer so i always have cold water. It is also good if We lose power during storms. Keeps my fridge cold. My doctor asked me last month if I walked and inlaughed and told him yes my 80 lb pitty takes me for at least 3 or 4 walks a day. She is not allowed off leash because she likes to chase the cats and the big raccoon that lives behind us in the swampy woods. Believe me after having to go in that mess twice after we moved over here she stays on a leash. Especially with the hot weather because of snakes. Any time you make it to st Augustine give me a shout. We can sit on my patio and chat. I'll even get you something to drink besides water. Lol. Stay safe and thank you for keeping this old woman entertained. God bless you and your family

Definitely a sure sign of an old abode when there's big old oak trees. I see this in NC. That looks like a great place for detecting!!! I still have yet to go the ramps festival they have every spring outside of Asheville, got to get some for growing!

Leeks...yeahh a Ramp is a Leek (wild variety). Everyone calls them Ramps but the viewing audience outside of Appalachia probably has no clue what these are, but the Leek is sold in stores and popular menu item in soups. You wonder how such a plant ever got here.....but they are guuuuooood...

Weren't Vicks Nyquil bottles three cornered? Looks like a hillbilly party area.
@AppalachianHistoryDetectives
@AppalachianHistoryDetectives 3 ай бұрын
Not sure Vicks was around back in the 1950's when most of this trash seems to date from. There was no trash hauling service in the mountains back then and farmers dumped their trash in swales, foundations or valley's. I agree it could have been a party area, but a cool one to boot!!
