You should make a coin that has Ben's way, and on the other side, Nicole's way. So when you are trying to figure out how to do a project, flip the coin.

Hi guys, thanks for sharing how to use the XTool. Courtney’s necklace came out amazing. I loved hearing the story about Molly & Harry. It’s a bummer that you didn’t catch that on camera. I’m sure that I’m not the only one who would have liked to see it. Sending prayers and love from the states. Take care & have a blessed weekend. 🙏🤗💗🐾

The types of metals that don't stick to a magnet are called non-ferrous, and the ones that do are ferrous metals 🙂
@JustAnotherBuckyLover2 күн бұрын
I think the term you're looking for is "ferrous" (from the Latin word for iron). Ferrous metals stick to magnets and non-ferrous ones don't. Precious metals are things like gold, silver, platinum etc. Though technically, some non-ferrous metals have some magnetic properties too. And yes, the nm on the box stands for "nanometres" and refers to the wavelength of the laser. ☺ I love how the coins turn out in the end!

to preserve the colour of the flowers, I would try soaking or spraying the blotting paper with glycerine and letting it dry and then use it for the flowers. I haven't done this method myself -it just came into my head. If I was still doing flower pressing like I did when younger, I would try this.😁

Ferrous & Nonferrous is I believe what you were looking for in terms of metal types. Metals not containing iron are nonferrous, metals containing iron are ferrous.

You partially answered my question by upping the depth & passes. The question would've been, will permanent inks bond with the cut metal, or ink dyed resin? This was fun to watch, can't wait to see what products you develop😃👍 EDIT: ooo, the pretty things you could make by patinating copper!

I have a necklace that is a miniature urn with a bit of my late domestic partner’s ashes inside, and the jeweler that created it also engraved the back with one of his fingerprints. I have to assume that she used a computerized laser and digital image of his fingerprint.

@garzilla71232 күн бұрын
The Lazer is so cool. But I think what you should try is to run it twice over the coins and such BEFORE you remove them and it should darken the image. I know when I had the Lazer in my computer to burn the images on the CD and DVD labels I would run them through two or three times and the labels would come out so much brighter and crisp. That final coin really came out nice. But if you try the above just don't move it until you have run it through at least two or three times. That necklace came out awesome too. 🙂👍👍👍

Hey Ben and Nicole! I'm just getting to watch the video because we had SNOW❄here in Texas and across the southern Gulf states!🤯 It got down to 24F and we basically shut down for about two days due to the icy conditions. It was a major event because we just don't get that kind of weather here.😂We got four inches too!! It was an awesome sight to see, it's long gone now. Funny how tomorrow it's going to be raining and in the mid 60's...welcome to Texas weather.🤣 Love the XTool machine and the final coin y'all made. The sky is the limit on things to do with that machine, so cool!😜 Ya gotta love those fur babies...Big hugs!!🐾😍

cool, i would love to do this myself but i have no possibility lol. i was wondering if you can put some coins in the middle of a mold to do something similar to an egg (basically a frame around the coin, and so that could be hanged on the wall). oh and the magnet trick is something that i do too! so basically if there's any brass/copper the magnet will stick, if there is stainless steel or silver/gold it won't. the problem is some can have just a chepo coat on them and after some washes it will go away but with this coin there's actually no problem. well, my tested try is to leave them with me on regular washes and out of 5 rings from temu, 3 were stainless steel (which i still have) and 2 were cheapo copper ones. so try to wash them or even smell them and see if they stink or not :)

Hi Ben and Nicole, I might have missed this in the early part of the video but can you explain why you went with the 2W module to do the engraving/scoring - can't you do that with your 40W module? I'm only asking because I think mine is 10W or 20W and I know they sent me like dog tags and things like that when I got the machine, but I've never tried it. So there you go - a #QOTD lol. Mine is is the first XTool desktop model they did. Thanks and Courtney looked really pretty and glowing today after the fishing episode - I definitely believe you about the fish Courtney. Hugs to you all.

It looks like we're also going to get a heatwave this next week - and we will also be up in the 30s (F)! The high the other day was -5 F, so just getting above freezing is a win. :) For the ones where it was a little hard to see due to it being a lighter outline, I was reminded of the coins that are struck at my local Ren Fair - you get to choose your design which is on a die, and then they drop it with a weight from about 6 feet up to imprint the design on a coin / pendant. You can then choose to have it antiqued, where they rub some sort of black inky substance on it (I'm afraid I don't know the specifics, unfortunately), and then rub off the ink on the raised portion. The black ink then settles into the recessed parts of the design and gives a nice contrast, and I'm wondering if you could do something like that with those coins. Since it does seem like the XTOOL can create darker lines, though, that is probably not needed.
