Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Tip for the hole saw! Drill your 1/4 inch hole. But use a piece of 1/4 steel rod in the hole saw. This will keep you from breaking bits when the saw catches. The rod acts as a pilot instead of the drill bit.

Ranger is the way to go on the farm! Our grain bins are about 100 yards from the shop, so it saves a lot of steps when we have a breakdown out there. Great in the spring for scouting fields and also handy for odd jobs like hauling out dead deer, ducks, geese, etc. We also toss in a 2630 and StarFire 3000 RTK for mapping boundaries and ditches.

Instructor at auto school taught us to stand off to the side of your dominant trigger finger hand. This makes it pull your arm and hand, rather than twisting it up so you have WAY more leverage against it instead of it just twirling your wrist up like yarn. Almost twisted my whole arm off with a 1" concrete drill when my glove got caught up in it.

,,, Always fun watching your videos Zack, but here is something nice you can do for your mail man, take that little city letter size mailbox off, that you bought about a year ago and replace it with a full size rural parcel mailbox, at menards they're only $26. Your mailman probably has a couple of 100 stops, and whenever he has to bring something up to your house it really kills the time on his mailroute. He sure would appreciate that big mailbox I know.

Thank you again for the video, always a joy to listen to you talk about farming, equipment and family. Years ago Ihad the pleasure to meet the guy who invented the cam lock coupling you use to pump chemicals in the he was a true character. Once he crashed a tractor on a long down grade, which made a right angle turn the road turn half way down the road turned, he didn't. Seems he was tire of how slow he was going so he kicked the tractor in to neutral. Again for your videos Cheers Phil

I’ve been watching yours and coles channel and have literally wasted my whole weekend wishing I was born in a farming family... I’ve always loved the country and just doing my own thing. Every year a farmer 5 minutes from me invites people to learn the process of farming and lets you drive the tractor to plant, spray, combine with him. I always get sad that I can’t just stay and work all day because once your in the machine it’s not really work but know it’s not just that because problems arise...

Helpful hint from a professional, looks like you use lots of stickers- put just a few drops of dish soap in a sprayer bottle full of water, spray BOTH sides of the sticker, spray the surface it will be applied to: then SQUEEGIE into place. Or use a credit card in a pinch to get bubbles out. Perfect application, zero bubbles. Oh- and you can slide it around to position it perfectly before you squeegee it down. Sticks immediately, then any "moisture" 😎 under it dries right up... PS- Looked like that grain marker flapper was caught sticking out of the hole below your line of sight when you were installing, in case you didn't see it... may not flip up and down...

Man, when you were putting the grain level indicator on the bin, I was cringing over the glancing blow to your knuckles when the hammer skipped off the punch, then you demonstrated the "automatic shut-off" and I died! Those half-inch drills are no joke. If you're hanging on when they do that, they will throw you around.

See in your last video you cot your 9560RT back. Knew what was going on when I heard your dad on the radio. I have spent 80K on my 9000seris JD just to keep it in the field (fan drive, injectors, head gasket, more injectors, and transmission). Have three neighbors with the same problems. All started at 2500 hours, JD wouldn't help with repair costs. So far 1 new Quad track 1 new Cat Challenger in area. I'm done with 9000 series JD tractors.

Not to sound like captain obvious, but when drilling metal with a hole saw adjust the clutch to about 50% so when the pilot bit breaks thru the metal the teeth on the hole saw don't grab and break the pilot bit or your wrist. Then dial up the clutch for the remainder of the hole. Another trick is to drill the pilot hole with a large washer between the metal and the hole saw. Once the pilot bit breaks thru the metal the teeth hit the washer and spins with no chance breaking your wrist. Or just drill the pilot with the hole saw removed :)
