I think you both do an amazing and lovely job the way you are and look after your animals. But I don’t get it why you Americans think it’s fine and a great sport to kill a wildlife animal that has every right to life like me and yourself just for fun. When you like to come up with an excuse saying there to many or someone else says it’s fine. It’s like we’re they think k it’s fine in Africa to kill lions too for the rich sport. How to get enjoyment from killing something else that struggles everyday to live without help or luxuries is beyond me WHY ? .....

We have so many stray cats around here and have been so afraid of 1 getting into the engine so we now lift the hood and check before we go anywhere and yes we have found a few under there

Smeade was so very very lucky. I am thrilled to hear that he wasn't seriously injured. That is the same thing that happened to my Dad right after my mom died. He was devastated bc she was mangled. She had to have her leg removed and she spent many months in the house healing. She never could go back outside bc she had a hard time getting up in the haystack so she was too easy to get caught by the coyotes. She finally adapted to living inside and made a great lap cat 🐈 for my dad in his later ❤ years.

We had a cat that lost her tail when it got caught in the fan belt under the hood of my van. She survived thankfully! The Van.. the belt broke, and had to get somebody to bring out a new one and replace it. Glad Smegal was only missing fur!

We check the engine compartment of our truck every time we are going to go into town. Learned to do that after a skunk decided they wanted to get warm and hang out in the engine compartment.

@@MakkIsLooking Yes. Yes it was... We parked the truck as far from the house as we could until the smell was tolerable enough for us to wash the engine off with some dish soap and A LOT of peppermint essential oils to both kill the scent and keep animals out of the engine compartment.

I can't believe how tall and grown up your son has become! So sorry that Smiegel got injured, but happy to see that he will recover! Cats are notorious for getting up inside the engines of cars and trucks in the winter time...years ago, one of mine rode in my tire well all the way to my Granny's house 30 miles away...Your animals all look so healthy and their barn is well maintained and clean....the baby goats are so precious...and you have an awesome tractor/skid steer to make things much easier and pleasurable...all is going very well on your home front...so proud of you guys...love your videos!😊

I recommend giving your vehicles a thud on the hood before getting in and starting it. That way any animal, cat or otherwise, will know to run away. Saves trouble. I am glad that Smee is okay.

I am glad Smegal is doing good. We have so many cats running around our neighborhood that we have gotten onto the habit of knocking on our vehicles to make sure no cat has gotten up in the hood. Schmee is great! What a hunter! I've had barn cats go into gopher holes and bring back their trophies. It's so cool how they want to share with their "pack". This time of year you have to check the engine compartment and wheel wells before driving off. All kinds of critters get in them for shelter and warmth. I once made it a few blocks to the post office with a kitten in my engine compartment. It was a stray and ran off as soon as I stopped. I felt so bad! I think it was ok, but I never saw it again. I still feel bad about that. We all know how much you care for your animals. Y'all do an amazing job.

Cats are bad for getting up in the engine of vehicles, especially when it's cold. I think it's the warmth they are looking for. So happy to hear he survived. A lot don't.

That is where cats go when it gets cold at night. The engine is still warm and it is a warm cozy spot for them. Thats why they tell everyone in the winter hit the top of the hood before you get into your car or truck and start it up. Give them a few minutes to wake up. We used to turn our alarm system on and they would come from out underneath. So glad Sneegle is ok. Glad you turned your truck off right away. Have a happy Thanksgiving. Blessings to your family.

My father in law took one to work one day...drove 26 miles and never knew the kitten was under the hood of his car! Thank God that little one survived because there were a few others who weren't so lucky over the years on the farm!

I’m was an emergency vet tech for years and that’s a really common occurrence in cats… they snug up where it’s warm under the hood… also they lick antifreeze and have disastrous results… glad Smeegel is ok… you were SO lucky!!!😉♥️‼️☮️

Oh Smegal was lucky and I'm so glad that he's ok! I would start hitting on top of the hood and make sure nobody is under there before starting the truck again. At least that's what I've always heard! Loved seeing all the goats and babies, as well as Mojo and Leeske and the sheriff!

Yes,, had similar problems. Our solution was to adopt a Saluki . ( Think large black shaggy greyhound). Now, sighthound dogs are the sweetest, most cuddly, loyal, protective of their pack, ie, your family, fastest dogs around. Daily walks around the ranch at different times on a long lead. Word got out. She also learned very quickly what was ok to chase and what was part of our “pack”.

Glad your kitty is doing well. One thing about outdoor cats they climb up in the motors to stay warm so you may have to check everyday for your cats before starting your engine. Love watching the baby goats.

Glad kittie did not have worse injuries. Indeed that is sucky moments.. glad exited on his own. Chicken wire over porch plant pots usually prevents cats from doing what they do in soft soil. Later can clip out bigger openings in the wire as needed for plant & soil maintenance.

Didn't read all the comments but the best tip I can give people in cold areas is to pound on the hood before you get in to the vehicle. That is said to scare any cat that maybe hiding in there. Glad he isn't injured more!
