It would be interesting to record overnight, outside one of the windows (or with a window open), to see if the sounds are more clear (therefore coming from the outside) or less clear (sounds more likely from the inside. I do think the owls are the most likely source. At my own house, the larger birds (crows, etc) walking on the roof sound a lot like people walking up there.

My thoughts on the sounds recorded, it definitely sounds like the noise a bird would make with its feet. The owl you found in the drain pipe is called a "Little Owl" and they go after small things like bugs, lizards etc. Maybe it was in the gutters again outside, and with everything else being so quiet, the device may have picked it up? Btw lots of birds like to poke around in gutters for bugs hiding in old leaf litter. Billy I'm amazed at the speed your bringing the library into shape. Now that you showed the photo, I understand about the bookcases being flush with the walls.

There are tools for twisted studs. But I like using a pipe wrench to twist the wood back straight while I am nailing or screwing it in place. In the US the warped or twisted studs are seconds. Often can get them at up to 50% less price. Up to 90% if they are very badly warped or twisted. As you can always use it as noggins. Creating a pipe steamer you can also straighten wood with heating them and heavy weights to flatten them.

The library is really looking great! Your vision to see what a space could look like is amazing Billy. I like the idea of window seats . Where I grew up we had a very small old stone library building, it’s now the historical society building. I remember it had window seats and as a child I fit in them perfectly and loved reading a book there. It would be nice for your children to have books there ( some classics ) at there height so they could reach them and sit in the window seat. Don’t laugh but my husband and I have been renovating our 1940’s beach house, we have a small room that we are making into a little library sitting area ,it’s quite a challenge designing and fitting the book cases into such a small space. So I find your videos on the library very inspiring. Love seeing your family’s three generations working together.
