I would say keep the kiddos home, communicate with their teachers about putting together packets of work for the next couple of days, stocking up on workbooks for math, reading, writing prompts, and science from Barnes in nobles/amazon for their age groups is a good idea too. Also knowing what computer programs the school uses for academic subjects and their log in info so they can do some online work too. Better to be safe and prepared and not need it.

Hey Judy, Be careful with how you sleep. Since you're pregnant, lying on your back could compress your vessels and prevent blood from getting back to your heart and brain. Try lying on your side when you sleep and take your time getting up. Hope it helps!

I'm sure she knows to not sleep on her back esp since baby is growing in her belly. She had twins, but yes definitely a good reminder that sleeping on back is a no no.. sleep on side with pillow support is best Judy!

Try to avoid bringing the kids out to supermarket or crowded areas during this period. Supermarket carts and basket handles contain a lot of bacterial too. The virus able to survives a number of days on any surfaces. Best to disinfect door , car handles, keys after one is back home. On the safe base, anything one touches upon reaching home before washing hand with soap to be disinfect.

Qustions & Answers Yes the flu kills more people **so far** but this is a NEW virus in humans and the medical community is still trying to learn about it. The flu also has a vaccine and medications like Tamiflu to help reduce the severity and duration of the illness-- and lots of people still die from the flu. This virus does not have those treatment options yet and appears to be highly contagious. People don’t need to be absolutely terrified, but they do still need to be aware of the facts and follow the precautions and guidelines that are being shared by our federal and local health agencies until more research can be done and we can eventually develop vaccines and medications to control it.

Everyone is preparing for a quarantine and I’m over here like, Nurse Life haha. No days off for me, however we are experiencing shortages of masks because people are buying them!

My ED went through 700 masks the other day. Today was at least 800. If we keep going at this rate, we’ll have enough for 7 more days 😩. This is just the ED. Not sure about the other floors. Pretty sure staff are pocketing some. They are also discarding after only 1 use. Our main medical supply company is in China. As the supplies, mainly masks, were being shipped to the US from China, the Chinese navy turned the ship around to keep the supplies in China. Our county took in cruise ship guests and Americans who were evacuated from China. They were quarantined on our local airbase. That caused an uproar in our county and people cleared the shelves at our stores. Long story short, we’re kinda screwed, but no way on the same level as China.

I’m a nurse as well in Florida. There are a shortage of masks already. To the point where we can’t even do our yearly TB testing... thats the scary part. Lol. I also still have patients that use the restroom and just walk out... I’m like 🤦🏾‍♀️... please go was your hands lol.

Hi! I'm from Milan Italy, and we are at home, off to school by 3 weeks now. It's really hard with kids at home. Sports are off, cinemas are off, places for people aggregation are off, churches are off. No one place to go. Just home. And probably will go longer, other 2-3 weeks. Love that you home schooled the kids! What a nice way to ensure they still keep something similar to their routine. Being a teacher is extremely hard. It’s mentally tiring and that’s worse than being physically tired. Not only do we have 20+ kids in our class, all 20 students have different needs. Some with ASD, some with behaviour problems... etc. Although it is so hard, it’s such a rewarding career

As someone in oregon who has two kids 17 months and under, I just thought I’d share that the mortality rate is only 0.2% for people 39 and under who have no preexisiting health conditions! Most cases are more mild than the flu, and the man who died in Washington I believe was elderly that had health problems. Still scary!! But reminding myself of these facts help my anxiety so I thought I’d pass it along

While I hear what you're saying, it kind of is frustrating that the message is "oh it's mostly just old people and those with pre-existing conditions who are dying" because that's like saying they're second-class health citizens: as if it's okay because they're weaker. I know that's not what you're trying to say, but if you look at it another way, if people aren't careful they can very easily pass on the virus to an elderly person or a pregnant person or a person on cancer meds, etc., and so I think the quarantine is SO important and people taking this seriously is SO important because we should value preventing spread for others as much as we value it for ourselves. I once had those dizzy spells too and it was one of the scariest things ever. I felt so disoriented and nauseous after. Apparently there's a crystal type thing in your inner ear, what keeps you balanced, and it loosened up because I moved my head too quickly when I rolled around in bed. So for a solid 2 weeks I couldn't turn my head too fast or lay down too quickly without getting dizzy 😩

The right way of eating those small mangoes is to actually make them soft wid ur fingers by pressing over all but carefully not to puncture it. Then remove the black spot at the top n then suck the pulp in ur mouth. Its yummmmmmm

I go to evcc and right as I got to class my professor informed us that the school was being closed at 12 (it was about 11:45 at the time she told us) for sanitation and then a couples hours later they put on their website that there was a student who tested positive! but were waiting on more information now, I had a feeling it was going to get closed for sanitation but wasn't anticipating having to pack my supplies really quick and go home! crazy stuff! I'm sure more schools nearby will continue to work on sanitation/ close schools for a day, but good call keeping the girls at home :)

What are you going to do tomorrow and the next day, and..... I’m mean you can’t indefinitely keep them home until everything is “safe”. My daughter goes to Western in Bellingham and is supposed to fly here to la next week, unless lax closes, she’s still coming. Girl I worry about this too, the lady that was released in San Antonio, TX went to the mall less than a mile from my home. I door dash sometimes and I get orders from there. I was so glad I didn’t work Saturday when she went. Everybody keep safe and keep up with hygiene.
